I was wondering on how high is the rate of fire of the Johnson LMG, because I thought the rate of fire of the LMG was frankly ridiculous 990 rpm felt high for it, so I did some digging and found some manuals that mention its rate of fire. Turns out its not 990rpm.
Some say its lowest as 450 rpm some say highest of 700 rpm but come to the 600 range
Ian video showing the gun firing show case it has 600rpm which I will suggest it be
Though notably it did state you can change the cyclic rate but changing the springs in one manual
[B = base & U = upgraded]
So base and upgraded rate of fire
600rpm(B) → 660rpm(U)
Also the Johnson LMG model wouldn’t have a selector for Semi, Slow Auto and Automatic it would just have Semi and Automatic.
Would you like this change
Would you see this changing its BR position?

I vote no, simply because I have a lot of fun with it as is.
It’s what carried me in Pacific campaign.

They could just rename it as the E1 version which i believe is the one they actually got the data from instead.
The E1 has the same rpm though what I can find and it looks completely different
Page 22 for it’s stats
Fact of the matter is the Johnson is in a ahistorical state for its rpm and should be corrected we can have a modified version which has a higher rpm up too 770 rpm maxed out
I would recommend putting personal bias aside for this

It’s a poll.
We vote if we want to or don’t want to.
My reason for not wanting to is as good as any.

Since I love the BAR the Johnson is most likely never going to be used in my squads whether the ROF is changed or not. I am not a fan of the Johnson gun sights.
The Johnson ROF is Inconsequential to me if the gunsight keeps me from using it, so, I would much rather the Dev’s spent time giving us “the option” of flipping the gunsight down rather then changing the ROF.
I would say the same about the Lewis MG since I will NEVER consider using it as long as the terrible gun sights are employed.
The 1944e1 document from the USMC said it also has 600 rpm Johnson lmg historical rate of fire - #4 by SmallebigE-live
So if you increase the gas port size it can go even to 1000 however in difference of Type 99 LMG where the gas port is adjustable this one is not so it must be done in the workshop and cant be changed after the gas port is made bigger. Since this model has gas assist well the rate of fire can go a lot more since its pushing the barrel assisting the movement. Why do I have to go with this rate of fire topics over and over … im having a Déjà vu moment I had same argument with the fake captain America in the past… xD
Point out the Johnson lmg M1941 and not the M1944e1 but yeah I see it now
Increased weapon rate of fire means a higher Enlisted rank.
I was stating the M1941 which is the only Johnson LMG in enlisted should go from 990-660rpm which a decrease of 330rpm the M1944e1 can and could potentially have a significantly higher rate of fire but the post isn’t about that MG
Let’s lower the rating based on the weapon’s historical stats. After all, rapid fire aligns with historical data, so the rating will be lowered accordingly.
