JAPAN - Volunteer Fighting Corps "national defence weapons"

The Japanese developed some crude weapons in the final days of the war. Like the German Volksturm, the Japs started to conscript civilians to strengthen them in their final stand, handing out even more primitive weapons than the Germans gave to the Volksturm. Together with bamboo spears and other polearms, these could be a fun BRI addition as an event squad or weapon, as a sort of “challenge” squad for veteran players. They are a bit silly, of course, but would be a fun addition to a sort of “last stand” line-up with other crude weapons such as the Type 99 (late).

bamboo spears with even longer range than the katana but with no sprint speed enhancement would be a funny trade off
