See this is why people who play war thunder should keep quiet for tank addition discussions
Let’s use our brains a little, that’s all. Tell me how many Enlisted players use tank destroyers. Okay, let’s say about 2 (because they’re unicorns, they’re rarer than a German player who doesn’t cry on the forum). Tell me a single BR III vehicle that can take out the Hetzer? Quick answer: maybe the Sherman 105mm in BR III. but in BR II there isn’t a single vehicle or AT weapon that can destroy a Hetzer unless it’s from the flank. The Hetzer is like putting the T-34 L-11 or the Sherman II in BR II; nothing will defeat them. There isn’t a single BR III vehicle that can take it out of action (in theory, because in reality there are). BR IV is another story, but think about it a little.
As a BR IV vehicle, it would be excellent, but not as a BR III. I just remembered a guy asking for the JPz IV in BR III because, surprise, surprise, the StuG III is standard BR III with the same gun. Don’t lie and say the StuG is premium; only the one with the short 75mm gun is. I love the nerve of German players who always want to be advantageous in everything.
Think about it: which tank hunter is approaching the front? Especially from Germany, who are total campers. Their “weak points” are worthless if you’re way back hitting everything and nothing can destroy you. Think about it.
Your argument would make a lot of sense, but in this case, if you’re playing BR II as the United States and they have a Hetzer in a distant defensive position, and your tank cannon won’t penetrate it even from 100 meters away, what do you do? And I’ll answer you quickly: nothing. You die because it will kill you before you even have a chance to plan what to do.
the ussr and the usa have the same absurd number of campers, the USA is the worst, especially in the Pacific.
It has many weak points and overpressure, so it’s not a problem
A BR4 tank destroyer with 20 mm of armor on the sides and rear against BR4 tanks, Panzersfaust 100, Ofenrohr and with a chance to play against Pershing, Super Pershing, IS-2, IS-2 1944, T-34 100, jets, Tu-2S, P-47, Corsair, B-25J-30 what an excellent idea
Pretty sure the M10 can pen this thing frontally so rank IV would be overkill.
it would be like blasting an ant with a nuke to put it against a super pershing.

cyberhetzer
You said it yourself, who would use a tank destroyer on top of a Panzer IV? This is just a suggestion for new content, merely an idea, so there’s no need to raise alarms against it. Regarding which BR III tanks could destroy it, you have the T-34 57 and the M10 (with both you can even destroy a Panther G in the turret and penetrate its lower 50mm frontal glacis), so there are options to counter it. Comparing this suggestion with the Jagdpanzer IV, it would be inferior due to the characteristics I mentioned in the post where I made the suggestion (I’m obviously not going to rewrite it). The idea that a BR II tank could counter it is the same old repetitive notion: a tank of a lower BR will always have some disadvantage against a BR III tank in some aspect (firepower, mobility, or survivability).
As much as I’d like to see Hetzer in-game and reasonably at BR III, there’s already the StuG III G as premium.
I doubt they’d be willing to overshadow a premium TD by a normally accessible and better TT TD.
Additionally considering that the 38(t) ended up as premium, I think the Hetzer would end up the same.
I mean sure let’s just pretend stuff like the pz sfl ic, premium pz4 j, jagdpanthar, and ho ri prototype don’t exist all of which have direct upgrades to them within the tech tree
I didn’t say there weren’t such cases, just that Hetzer would/will most likely receive the “unusual” tank treatment.
And as far as those vehicles go. Several prems are here just for tank enthusiasts and gatherers. The 38(t) nowadays is far outperformed by the Pz.3 J, though such was not the case back in Moscow campaign. The Pz sfl ic is however now decent ever since Pz.3N got up tiered and it is a good counterpart to the Puma.
Certain other prems are there to allow easier progression for newbies willing to spend money to make the progression more comfortable.
Lastly, all of the vehicles you just mentioned, except the Ho-Ri Prototype, can not be normally bought either from the TT or the shop, they are limited to special timed offers. (Right now the Dicker Max and Pz.3M is on sale)
As it stands, BR III has thus 2 premium vehicles always available for purchase, that being the Stug III G and Flak 37. Given that those cover the need for TDs in BR III, I am sorry to say and as much as I’d want the tank to be in game, I’d wager Hetzer will end up being a special timed offer prem.
Jagdpanzer 38(t) can easily be ported from War Thunder, which is nice!
Also, since the armor is more comparable to a BR 4 vehicle, the firepower can be compensated with either APCR (PzGr.40, 182mm penetration at 10m) or more appropriately for a late war tank destroyer, fin-stabilised HEAT (Gr.38 KL/C KLW, 162mm penetration at any range).

btw, the hetzer is already in the game files of Enlisted, all of the work is done and all it needs is to be made available
I use it now and then in big action ammo capacity sucks though, but it is a converted light tank with a huge casement welded to its face there’s not really much space or weight to work with in the first place.
it’s a casemate with top mg which would be a first for germany i believe… a well enough reason maybe even for an event vehicle.
It’s a casemate
