- Fucile Anticarro Scotti 8x99mm
- Italian anti-tank rifle in 12.7×81mm SR caliber
- No
The experimental Fucile Anticarro Scotti, a big and bulky bolt-action rifle chambered for tear-gas filled 8x99mm cartridges and loaded with detachable magazines that was never adopted by Italy due to it arriving too late to be effective against modern armored vehicles
The German WWII Panzerbüchse 1939 also used an 8mm tungsten armor-piercing bullet with a small amount of tear gas in the rear of the bullet. It was recognized by the designers that the bullet, its fragments or penetrator, and the spalling caused by a “through” on armor plate would not have been as effective, hence the addition of the gas agent.

The formula for power is simple the more powder the more power. A bullet with a large diameter and long caliber will have a lot of fill. The trouble is the more recoil making a man portable system more difficult the bigger the bullet. Secon penetration the larger the surface area of the bullet the longer the bullet has to be to push through.
This represents the idea of a small diameter bullet allowing a more manageable sized gun. The s18/1000 being nearly a hundred pounds is an example to the extreme a at gun can go. I would love to see this as an event weapon for Italy who as ever needs more gear. Of course like all at rifles this needs to be br1.

A br1 tech tree weapon to give Italy more representation in the Axis tech tree. Only for those who want to larp an all Italian lineup no one is going to choose this over existing axis at rifles. If anyone can find more concrete stats and post them below that would be great. But thankfully given all at rifles are br1 that would not change much.
