Issues with details of the T20 rifle

Original documents from Springfield Armory dated September 1944 clearly state the design specifications for the first-generation T20 rifle: semiautomatic fire from a closed bolt, fully automatic fire from an open bolt. Its design drew inspiration from the German FG 42 rifle, delivering both precision in semiautomatic mode and improved heat dissipation & cook-off prevention during fully automatic fire.
In Enlisted, the T20 rifle fires from an open bolt in both semi‑auto and full‑auto modes.

Therefore, the T20 rifle should fire from a closed bolt in semi‑auto mode, identical to the M1 Garand.

I didn’t quite understand your question: do you mean that the T-20 will fire just like the M1 Garand and won’t have a fire mode selector?

You first need to understand the difference between open bolt and closed bolt operation.
