This game features vehicle-based combat. Why, after all these years of development, has the issue of tanks getting stuck in trenches and craters and being unable to move been left unaddressed? Especially in this WW 1 event, this problem was further exacerbated. You had painstakingly accumulated 1,000 points, but your vehicle got stuck in a crater and couldn’t move, thus completely wasting this opportunity. This issue should not have been included in this game.
Is it a century-old problem to fix the issue of vehicles getting stuck in trenches and bomb craters?
i mean… dont drive ur tank into a crater?
They move pretty seamlessly over trenches tho
Do you think I deliberately walked into the trap? It’s just that it looked like I could drive through, but unexpectedly, I got stuck. That’s why I’m so angry. A shell crater the depth of a palm can trap an entire tank in the middle. Isn’t that infuriating? The character I control can walk straight through without jumping, and can even climb over small slopes that the tank can’t.
I’m curious how you would fix it. My only thought is a Halo style, “press X to flip vehicle”. Which is a bit obnoxious but hey if we can fix a transmission in 10 seconds, why not get unstuck in even less.
Personally don’t mind getting stuck because it’s realistic. As is the frustration that follows.
I am proposing to fix a long-standing bug that hinders players’ normal gameplay. I am not asking too much to prevent players from having to calculate whether they will be trapped by some inexplicable models every time they pass through a certain place
To give an inappropriate example, you wouldn’t want to encounter a situation in a game where you are killed by fragments flying from a hundred meters away in an explosion, or by a bullet falling from the sky after another player fires a weapon into the air. If you encounter such situations once or twice, you might just laugh it off and move on. But if it happens eight or nine times, you won’t be able to laugh it off anymore, especially if you are seriously contributing to the team.
the problem is that there isn’t traction across the whole track.
iirc it’s simulated as a car, with only a few contact points like wheels.
so if the right points are not into contact, there is no traction. happens in trenches and craters.
it would be great if they fixed it but there is no hope.
Same ahh solution as “if you don’t like dying in game don’t die”
What a stupid statement
This is a issue goes way deeper than just what we see.
The dagor engine (what war thunder and enlisted uses currently) was originally developed as airplane sim engine that dates way back to il-2 sturmovik.
Nowadays gaijin is stretching that engine to run ground battle, and they are not optimized for that.
Famous example is that the tracks don’t actually have traction, it’s just bunch of tyres acting like one.
The traction issue has been a long issue in war thunder even before this game. We used to say like “tracks are oiled”, “feels like running on soap” etc
The fact that Enlisted maps are optimized for infantry and not for vehicles, we see those problems more often here.
For example, all trenches in wt are blocked with invisible walls.
As much as i wish they fix it, but i know it won’t be a easy fix
I think I’m tracking. It’s an engine issue rather than a terrain issue or operator issue.
That fix is over my head then.
You’re wrong. Enlisted’s main focus is on infantry, not vehicles. If you’re a War Thunder player, you’d better adapt to the vehicle controls in Enlisted instead of constantly complaining. The overly realistic controls make vehicles feel slow and lifelike. If you only pursue speed and excitement, you’ll only create more problems, especially on the muddy battlefields of World War I, where heavy tanks had even worse mobility.
You mean, because the game mainly focuses on infantry, the issues that vehicles have had for years can be ignored? Then why does this game bother updating the vehicle technology line in the game? I’ve never seen a theory where someone would let their fingers and toes fester because their brain is the main focus.
First of all, this isn’t War Thunder or World of Tanks. Secondly, Enlisted’s vehicles prioritize realistic physics, not unrealistic speeds like in World of Tanks, or artificially inflated engine performance and excessive firepower like in War Thunder. If you expect a heavy tank to outrun a bicycle on muddy roads, I can only say you lack common sense. Moving in mud is difficult enough; do you think heavy tracked vehicles won’t slip and get stuck? Okay, stop complaining about Enlisted, because you’re just a casual War Thunder player.
I guess its not a combined arms game then.
Doesnt War Thunder test infantry?
Big words when APC drive like they drive on ice.
Also not all tanks are that awfully slow like they are in Enlisted, especially light tanks.
And planes are also way faster in real life and the Meteor didnt have ridicilious turning rates.
Like those tanks that get blown up because a random nukepack is thrown at them?
Someone only plays arcade I guess.
Also not sure what is excessive in tetms of firepower in War Thundet beyond Russian rounds and SPAAGs, especially since Russian tanks still OHK most tankd with their APHE rounds.
If you enjoy War Thunder’s Cold War mechanics and unrealistic driving thrills, you can go back to War Thunder and discuss these issues there. Enlisted primarily focuses on infantry combat, with armored and air vehicles playing a secondary role. If you insist on incorporating War Thunder’s gameplay into Enlisted, then I ask you: are WWII history and Cold War history the same? If not, why should their mechanics be identical?
Whats so realistic about (non-jet) planes barely being able to reach 400 km/h, let alone 500 km/h or APCs slipping through pristine roads?
Not sure where you get that but whatever.
Didnt the devs basically brag around that their development is based on War Thunder and basically taking the vehicle system from War Thunder to Enlisted?
Enlisted already had a Cold War/ Modern Warfare event and it is not about the era, but about the conbined arms elements.
But I got it, you dont like vehicles.
War Thunder now has a Cold War infantry mode, so if you like playing with vehicles, go back to War Thunder. It’s not that I don’t like playing with vehicles, but you Cold War history buffs always seem to ruin the historical feel of WWII history buffs. The development team is in War Thunder now, but you’re still in Enlisted trying to get attention! Do you know why you’re so annoying? You want too much, but you don’t want others to have the same things.
Okay, so cutting planes’ speed in half is something you refuse to answer, got it.
Now that you didn’t answer this question, how realistic is it to fire an automatic rifle with no drawbacks or easily aim with an anti-tank rifle or GPMG while moving?
Dunno, I think the number of automatic rifles used by everyone already gives decent Vietnam vibes, paired with the spamming of jets.
I have been saying this for years now.
Don’t have expectations, it only leads to disappointment.
Nihilism is right.
Not really sure what you mean here since the same applies to everyone here, including you.
“War Thunder players, go back to War Thunder.” This is my final advice to you: don’t discuss the Cold War and the Vietnam War on Enlisted. People aren’t interested in these issues, just as political hatred shouldn’t be on Enlisted forums. And don’t criticize others, because you have a problem yourself. You always like to compare War Thunder to Enlisted. World War II and the Cold War are completely different, yet you insist on linking them together. We don’t like War Thunder players coming here to nitpick and point fingers, because this is Enlisted, understand?! You know absolutely nothing about World War II history!
First of all, I would like to state that I am not a player of War Thunder. I spent 60% of my time in the game using infantry. Don’t judge a group of people who have different opinions from you like heretics. Can’t you act like an adult? My request is to fix the issue where a few centimeters of crater and a few bricks of rubble can block an entire tank. This shouldn’t exist in this game. I have spent several thousand yuan on this game as a consumer. Can’t you remind the production team to fix the bugs? Whether to fix or not is the production team’s problem, but you can’t deprive me of the right to express my opinion.
Isnt that BR5 at this point?

Only really in this thread, but okay dude.
What makes you think that WT Infantry will stop with Cold War?
So far, its only you.
I know that not all US soldiers had T20 rifles available when storming the beaches of Normandy.
In fact I think no US soldier had access to the T20 Rifle at all.
Plus I think that the SU-9 (1946) wasnt in WW2 either, at least not during the Battle of Stalingrad.
Peak World War II history here…
