So i get the occasional group invite in-game… How do we coordinate BR and Faction? There’s no way for them to even tell me what discord server they might be in? No text chat even?! It seems to me that you need to be with someone in discord first, then invite… Which makes ‘lfg’ kind of pointless. And I can’t get on enlisted servers anymore because I said some bad stuff about Churchill, lol. Can we get a text chat for in-group, in-game?

Here is the funny part: You dont.
After all this time DF still refuse to add any kind of group/ lobby chat for some stupid reason…
It would improve the game by so much but right now you better have your mates on discord aswell or you are in for a nasty suprise once the match starts.
I play in a group of 7 active players (From this forum)
We have messages thread everyone communicates on. We are about to start a third once since we they close at 500 posts.
We all agree upon a set of BRs currently USSR3 US5 Jap5 German 3. Anyone can suggest a BR change we take a poll if a majority agree its the default BR for group play. We adjust to how crappy a current BR situation is. BR 2 German became unplayable. USSR 3 is well balanced for maps. German 3 all maps. We communicate a lot in our message thread.
You can use the “Start” button to flash people if you are the host to let them know something is off. IE wrong BR, chance to change your wrong BR, or if everyone is fine fighting above their BR. If they are not with the program I remove then add so that specific person knows they are the one who need more time, adjust BR etc etc.
People make excuses for the chat. It is literally in so many games. So native voice chat client in game is not the same as asking for a basic ability to chat pre and post match? Asking for chat is beating a dead horse. They don’t want to do it for whatever reason. Solo players push back against it as well.
Discord is too much, the game has built in discord. Less latency (maybe?). Our group does just fine without voice chat.
I doubt they banned you for mentioning Churchill, He like Hitler and Stalin were public figures and leaders of their nations. So to say Go team Hitler playing Germany may upset some people, but he was the guy in charge and playing a video game about such a tragic event kind of removes all connection to the horrors of it. They also have a chat filter. This game is SUPER mild that way. Years of playing very few instances of people being racist and homophobic. VERY few.
I find this hard to believe unless you were playing in a custom lobby. The main Squad mode servers wouldn’t be so petty, but some custom lobby hosts are extremely thin-skinned.
