I hope to provide engineers at the beginning of every campaign

They don’t, is why i enjoy playing engineer
Although, recently played a game and there four of us on the same team, was like wtf

yeah, i’ll sometimes see other rallies but maybe we should have a building turtorial when a new player unlocks the engineer?

That’s a great idea.

Imagine a game with more than 1/2 the team(both sides) were engineers, lol

But now there are more snipers than engineers, which is really terrible.

Oh, I’ve seen that! It was six of them, two three-man teams, on the same discord. They made the second point on ministry garden invasion absolutely impregnable, we could barely get close.

Oh i read that thread, and enjoyed the stories from that battle, was like wish i was there etc

Haha, in fact, as long as the attacking party builds a rebirth point in time and actively attacks, they will not have time to build so many fortifications.

Speaking as the only player on my team that match that made any attempt to build a rally, it didn’t work. Those six guys basically ignored the defense of the first point and spent that time building their defense of the second, which is honestly brilliant strategy. Once we were attacking point 2, any time our direction of attack shifted heavily they’d know I’d built a spawn, and three squads of germans would counterassault to kill the rally. It was hilarious, and frustrating to play against, but I couldn’t help but marvel at the genius of it.

Do snipers ever actually help the team considerably anyway? I would think very little. Normally most “snipers” end at the bottom of the scoreboard. Campers going to camp

With all due respect, I think snipers are meaningless. The work of killing enemy troops in key positions can be done by tanks. Moreover, tanks can destroy key fortifications, which snipers cannot match!

I agree. I would rather have a team of bots mindlessly running forward absorbing bullets and distracting the enemy than a team in a house taking out one or two enemies

Seems a bit like my play style, as i am normally defending, will get to first spawn, do what i can, if i die, respawn, will do a small set up of next point, (if i guess right), then rush back to first to defend till i die, then as team falls back 2nd is half set up etc.

That’s why I hate people who use snipers. A few of them are fine, but many of them make our offensive ability particularly low.

Two tanks and two planes plus artillery are more than sufficient for support. Everyone else should build rallies and swarm the point

Snipers are only a detriment to their team if there’s too many or they’re being played badly.
For example: When I play snipers in Moscow or Normandy, because of the way the maps are, the best thing I can do while occasionally murdering the enemy at range, is keep to the sidelines spotting enemy positions and vehicles, providing good intel and making sure all that support from tanks, planes, artillery and mortars goes where it will do some good. On Berlin, I can do some of that, depending on the map and objective, but because everything is much more built up and urban, I can also be something of a distraction. I can set up where I can see the enemy approaching, and can harass them into dealing with me instead of attacking a point. I also carry a bolt and a semi sniper, so I can play more dynamically at every range. There’s not one class of soldier in this game that’s objectively bad, just classes played badly.

Oh I strongly encourage having a sniper in a squad to take out MGs and such. However running 3 sniper squads and hiding as far back getting very few kills on meaningless targets only hurts the team and MOST of the time a normal bolt action or semi auto rifle can hit the ranges we normally have to fight in just fine. I prefer the semi auto snipers myself to stay flexible

Anyone can provide information and what we need is more rebirth points and more fierce attacks. After building the rebirth point, you should immediately throw yourself into the attack. Only by constantly giving pressure to the enemy can you win. In my opinion, snipers will not take the initiative to attack, they just want to kill more enemies, but in fact they will be less than rushing in front …

The last sentence I want to say means “they will kill a lot less than those who rush in front”.

Same.

That’s why I only use one, and only use it when it won’t be useless.

This is why I carry both instead of ammo. I like the bolt gun for the better scope, at range and for observation and marking targets, I like the semi for more mobile, closer fighting.

Ah, but have you ever tried asking a team of randoms to mark targets for CAS, to mark a tank for destruction? The marking system is criminally underutilized.

Unless you’re opponents’ defense is strong, then it’s time to stop with the human wave attacks and think about what you’re doing. Agree with everyone building spawn points, though.

There’s certainly people maining snipers that do that. I don’t main snipers, and when I play them, I contribute. If I’m making a difference providing intelligence, I do that. If I’m forcing an enemy to deal with me instead of focusing on his attack, I’m contributing significantly to the defense. If I need to attack, I swap to the semi-auto or pistol and charge in. Bad players playing snipers doesn’t mean the class is trash.
