How in the heck are DF going to do pacific?

I couldn’t copy and paste so I had to take a screen shot on my phone. This is a description of one of the few armor engagements in the pacific against US and Japanese armor. How in the heck are they going to balance this? They couldn’t even pen the front of a Sherman!

There were some tanks in development that had good 75mm guns - some of them made in reasonable numbers but kept in the home islands.

Eg about 140-150 of these were made - Type 3 Chi-Nu medium tank - Wikipedia

And 2 of these - Type 4 Chi-To medium tank - Wikipedia

They will use those or similar, plus the early tanks will face US M2’s and M3 Stuarts.

It simply cant be an equal match. They need unique mechanics like RO2: Rising Storm or very early pacific theaters to make it work

The other option is prototype/fantasy/very limited use equipment but thats probably most people least favorite idea

And that…is my fear. Or they all have prototype semi auto rifles and tanks that never left mainland Japan

as for the semi-automatic zk-29 and the Japanese prototype they are fine, aviation is fine, even other light gun are fine the only problem are the tank impossibile to balance

There was no wide scale use of semi autos. It just becomes CoD level balance at that point. Id prefer extremely effective bolt actions or special perks to make them even better

Well the Germans did sell one to the Japanese…

…but of course the photo is in Europe and the dismantled tank never made it out of France, apparently being reassembled and “leased” back to the Germans and subsequently lost somewhere on hte Western front.

Lol I was going to say!

i don’t think i have ever seen anyone use arisaka in moscow so i can’t tell if japanese BAs are effective against semi-automatics or not

I mean give the Japanese unique perks to boost bolt actions or squad mechanics to balance as they historically used unique tactics. Check out Rising Storm as they did it beautifully with no fake weapons against even late war US

BA’s are crap against semi-automatics.

but they are quite good against the people using the semi-automatics.

12 man squad of screaming japanese with bayonets fixed running full speed should beat them lol

I meant this  but more specifically if they had a base rate of fire slightly higher than kar98k it would probably also be possible not to give semi-automatics to the Japanese, for example the winchester in moscow is a good alternative to the SVT / AVS despite being a BA

Some of my balance thoughts:

Hidden rallies-no sounds and very hard to see

Banzai charge-full speed bayonet attacks where no stamina is lost and can melee while sprinting

Unique perks- Even faster bolt action cycling, flame resistance

Camouflage

Booby traps

Larger rifleman squads

Japanese “knee” mortar with mortar men in each squad

Snipers can climb trees

Fortified and camouflaged machine gun nests

 All of the great things that RO2 has.

Tiger is always rhe solution my friend.

There is no problem a Tiger can not crush. Except maybe if the problem is another Tiger.

you need a more big and powerful tiger

They will never be able to balancd this campaign without finding a balance between historical accuracy and fairness.

If you introduce thd B-29 for the USA

You will have to give something like Gundam for the japanese:

i think they couldnt make a properly balanced pacific, unless they
a) have it very early war-> chi has and m3s being mid/late unlocks
b) fill the japanese tree with prototypes

overall i think the 2nd options is much more likely
i already talked in another topic about the likely tank combos/progression if they take the 2nd option:
chi ha/ke ni vs m3 stuart
chi ha kai/chi he vs m5 suart
ho i vs m8
ho ni 3 vs m3 lee
chi nu vs m4a1
chi to vs m4(a1/a2) 76
