How in the heck are DF going to do pacific?

Actualli the chi ha can have a chance against sherman, maybe they just should not add the late versions of the sherman. Also there is a 120 mm howitzer version of the chi ha and some self propelled guns

Please don’t make the devs adding tanks that never left japanese homeland for “balance”'s sake… just don’t please.

Or we will see AK-47s for countering stgs one day, and you could go play BFV as well

Oh you would be surprised by how many people are obsessed with " perfect balance!11!1!"

just skip the tank part of the game? or let it
be max lvl stuard or something no problem.

Exactly. Tanks were not anywhere near the scale they were in Europe. Infantry, light tanks, IFVs and planes

pretty sure the heat on chi ha can pen at least sherman side armor

Chi ha can pen the side of the sherman even with standard APs, maybe the front hull of early version if it is close and with a bit of luck

Nor the bottom of Japanese lakes.

just checked in WT
APHE can pen a few very specific angles(driver/ hull gunner viewport on a1)
HEAT can pretty reliably pen sides as well as few point on the front(the vertical can thing on regular m4, hull viwports and front hull sides on a1)

Yes but the chi-ha I was talking about is the chi-ha kai

ah, makes more sense

Main balance problem I see is about vehicles. But… are vehicles THAT necessary in such campaign? They could make do with much less than in other campaigns and manage something really fun. There wasn’t any in Rising Storm if I recall well and it was one of the best campaign.

I agree the vehicles weren’t used en masse by either side as mostly it was a war of attrition on each island they could leave the tanks alone for once and focus on the aviation that is balanced for both sides

It would also prevent bizzare situations like jumbos on the beach vs prototype Japanese supertanksthatneverexisted… :stuck_out_tongue:

Are they crap or are they good?. I can’t understand your point here.

The simplest solution would be to do Commonwealth against Japan, somewhere like Burma, Papa new Guinea or Hong Kong. This instantly removes the semi-automatic problem, as both of them only had semi’s in prototype or really minor scale deployment. For tanks, this also opens up the possibility of using more armored cars and light tanks against Japans lightly armored tanks, as the Commonwealth used both British and US models of both. If you did something like Burma, you could have something like M8 Greyhound/Ha-Go, Humbler Mk IV AC/Ke-Ni, Daimler MkII AC/I-Go, M3 Stuart/Chi-Ha, M3 Grant/Chi-Ha Kai.

Or its transmission mate

Well, at least in the Battle of Philippine in 1945, Japanese had decent 15 cm and 7.5 cm tank destroyers which is able to destroy M4 tank… Especially 15 cm howitzer is very effective to attack not only tanks but also infantry. Although, such tank destroyers is not well protected but better than nothing.
