The Panzer IV/70 (V) was always deserving of being a BR4 tank, and the Ferdinand definitely should be moved up to BR5.

I still think the best and fairest solution would be to give current short gun Jagdpanzer IV L48 80mm of armor instead of its current 60.
60mm of armor is historically speaking not really correct anyways, most short gun Jagdpanzer IV also had 80mm of armor. Only the very first production prototypes had 60mm of armor.
Even then I seriously doubt anyone would use it. It would still be just as useless with more armor, the cannon isn’t good for BR4, and there’s tanks with much better guns while also having good armor.
i mean, that’d be pointless. That thing would have on papaer armor simmlar to a panther, yet no turret and worse gun. I don’t think that is the move.
I dont know, personally I think Panthers frontal armor to be very strong for BR4, Jagdpanzer IV L48 with 80mm armor would practically be a Panther without the 100mm turret weakspot - of course there are other drawback for being a SPG, but that alone makes this vehicle interesting to me.
Right now its rather pointless.
Why not just move the Jagdpanzer IV to BR3, the Panzer IV/70 (V) to BR4, and the Ferdinand to BR5? That seems like the best solution to me

I fear that the Panzer IVs gun may not be enough for BR IV.
If penetration and post pen would work properly- then 7.5 cm L48 would deal with basically every target well.
Its literally got 140mm of penetration
Because 60mm angled is immortal against T34, KV1 and Sherman.

That’s only straight on, which even then it’s not immortal. But a slight bit of angling leaves the thin sides exposed, which are really easy to pen by just about any tank.

the jagdpanzer shouldnt be br 3. the hetzer if added would be a much better option for br 3, as its slightly easier to take out the transmission and crafty players can overpressure it by shooting the top mg with he
The Panzer IV/70 (V) is extremely underrated vehicle. I own the premium version from Berlin campaign. And I use it quite often in my silver farming BR5 premium lineup.
It has several advantages over JP. Much lower silhouette, you can cover it in bushes while still have very decent visibility, it has good reverse speed and can OHK pretty much any tank.
There’s really no reason to lower it to BR4. The vehicle definitely doesn’t struggle in BR5. Its only problem is that more iconic and interesting vehicles are present on the same BR. And since people can’t use all vehicles in any tanker squads. It is outprioritized by other vehicles, such as Tiger II. (Unless you own the premium version with seperate squad)

Thats the thing, 88mm long is overkill, 7.5cm L70 already has 190mm of penetration.
I think my main reason why I never use it ia because it has ( unlike its BR4 L48 version ) has very low MG ammo.
If the Panther had good reverse speed, it would definitely be BR5 material.
In relation to armor, I was rarely killed in one shot. And most of my deaths were by some guy with pfaust anyway.
