Ho-Ni I BR2>>>>>BR1 🇯🇵

Before the Manchurian campaign the Japanese BR1 tanks of TT were already very weak against Allied tanks (especially those from BR2 which have very good armor) and now they are facing T-70,T-50,T-28 and T-28E so the Japan BR1 needs a tank with higher penetration

The Ho-Ni I has no armor, no turret, no machine gun and is completely open. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be BR1 and now who going to use it in BR2 if we have the Ho-Ni III which has a roof at least

Ho-Ni I should be BR1?

The only counter argument I’ve heard about moving certain tanks down to BR1 is that people are scared of HE spam. But you get uptiered quite frequently at BR1 so HE spam is nothing new, T-28s and M8 Scott’s etc.

Exactly, always I play BR1 I rarely don’t play against BR2

People are so adamantly opposed to putting things that can HE spam into BR1, but BR1 is gonna face HE spam anyways so why keep a few tanks useless in BR2 when they rightfully deserve to be BR1.

Plus the best way to counteract HE spam would be the put a score requirement on spawning in vehicles.

No 75mm he in br 1.

Why?

I don’t understand this, most of the tanks the community asks to put in BR1 are extremely weak in BR2 and in BR1 you face HE spam anyway Lol

Why not? BR1 faces BR2 in practically every match, so BR1 face HE spam anyway

And Ho-Ni I has no armor, no turret, no machine gun and is completely open

Do you think this is a BR2 tank?

Cause some tanks are BR1 level in quality but are still in BR2. The Ho-Ni I and the Alecto are the best examples, the Ho-Ni III is also pretty bad for BR2 as well.

I understand.
I think they should rework all of the br system for a lot of tanks.
For exemple,a sherman 105, or a kv2 (with the 152mm) can’t be compared to the dickermax or the shi ha (short gun). But they are in the same Br.

Maybe adding a new br6 + rethink some br should a solution

No tank has 75mm or bigger cannon in BR1 to prevent rampant HE.
There is one exception here, the Semovente and even that doesn’t get any HE shells.
Only way I could see HO-NI I lowered to BR1 is by taking its HE shells away, but then it would be absolutely defenless against infantry since its APHE’s explosive filler is very weak.

BR6 definitely needs to be added, the top tier BR5 stuff is good enough to warrant a separate BR entirely.

BR I still faces BR II almost every match.

And it will get some braith to br4 , and putting some stuff there will be better for lowest br

I’m well aware but that is no excuse.

BR2 gets better toys than BR1 because they run the risk of getting uptiered themselves and the gap between BR2 and BR3 is far larger than the gap between BR1 and BR2.

Not even StuG III A gets a pass to be BR1 and I don’t see why Ho-Ni I should either.
Moving Ho-Ni I to BR1 would just incentivise playing BR1 with Ho-Ni and sitting in the back spamming HE.

Well, I guess there is some truth to that, but what else could be done to help japan with their anti-tank capabilities?

there are tanks Japan could get like the Type 98 Chi-Ho or Type 5 Ke-Ho which would have the gun necessary to deal with T-28E and M3 Lee however these tanks are not in War Thunder.
The overall best solution would be to turn the event Chi-Ha Kai into a unique skin (like Panzer IV G “Stalingrad”) and add the normal one to the tech tree.

So I’ll repeat again
Ho-Ni I has no armor, no turret, no machine gun and is completely open

Ho-Ni I has no armor or roof, meaning anything can kill it, so that wouldn’t be a problem

Yes I recognise the flaws, this SPG is indeed borderline worthless however moving it to BR1 would open Pandora’s box. You need to recognise that yourself.

Ok of course, but I wouldn’t mind putting useless tanks in BR2 in BR1, either way, BR1 faces HE spam
