Faction experience should be shared across all campaigns, because again, having to level them all separately actively punishes you for wanting to play a different mapset. If you have Allies at level 8 in Normandy then your Allies faction should be 8 in Moscow… We should not have to redo the awful bolt actions only grind over again in each campaign… Why on earth would I switch campaigns if it means I have to use trash weapons for 30 hours?
I mean, I would much prefer the levelling to be shared IN campaigns, not ACROSS campaigns.
But, again, it doubles the length of play time for each one, meaning theres more content.
I’d hate grinding through Germany on Moscow to only find that I’ve just skipped halfway through Normandy too. Would suck
Agreed. Sometimes it’s the journey, not the destination.
The problem here being is that some of us don’t have 30 years to dedicate to playing every faction because some of you don’t have a life and don’t understand the concept of a job and a social life outside of video games.
Grind =/= content.
Comments like this don’t help anyone…
the concept makes no sense to me - each campaign is essentially a completely separate game in and of itself, just using the same game engine.
Why would faction level exist across the campaigns in any logical terms?
The idea that there’s only so many hours a day is understandable, but you aren’t proposing playing for fewer hours - so, er… so what? You’re still going to play 1-2-10 hours per day whether you are “sharing levels” or not.
The ONLY thing that this seems to achieve is, as was put - “I have to use trash weapons for 30 hours?”…
OK - if that’s your problem you can BUY YOUR WAY UP THE LEVELS - and of course the publishers want your money, so this is one of the ways htey get you to spend it - the pressure to skip past he grind is a real means of parting people from their money.
Your proposal will deprive them of cash - can’t see it being all that popular with the people who need to be paid for the game to exist!
No, it will just incentivise people to not stick to one campaign and one faction only. Someone who’s done the grind on one campaign has 0 reason to go do the same grind again on another one just to get a couple new maps.
I used to work 70. That’s for mugs mate, no free time, and no life. As for disparaging low paid workers, again you can get fucked, without those people you would be well and truly up shit creek without a paddle.
How does that help them with income?
you might not have that incentive - but others have different incentives and will happily do it for the different experience.
People who are willing to pay to skip grinds will do it anyways, people who aren’t aren’t whether it’s shared or not.
You seem to be under the impression that these games survive by getting almost everyone to spend a little bit - in reality they survive because of a minority of whales who throw money at them and buy literally everything.
And there’s a bunch of people in between your inability to understand that every person doesn’t fit into your clear categories will always be a problem for your argument.
I guess you aren’t a whale then?
So why should anyone care that you don’t want to grind and don’t want to pay to avoid it?
I totally agree
If there’s no one for the whales to play with, that’s when the game dies.
Lots of people are happy killing vast swathes of bots - get a great kill count that way
The initial grind is indeed horrible and too long. What I would do, let’s say Normandy. If you’d reached as Allies level 10 in Campaign, then on the Axis the XP till level 10 is x 4 faster.
Or something along the lines. They are smart people they can come up with something. Anything that makes you want to play the other faction and campaign rather than thing “fuck, not this again” and move to other games.
It is unreasonably grindy indeed.
It should be that both factions(For example, If you are level 8 with axis on Normandy, your Allied also should be level 8 on Normandy.)army levels shared in each campaign at least.
That would at least give people some incentive to click that “join any team” button.
All they’d do if they did that would be to double the amount of XP for each level. Which would make it even worse since some people only want to play one nation. The whole reason it is grindy is to try and get people to pay for stuff that will get them through the game faster.
