well idk exact implementation. someone mentioned loadouts and keo said he will pass it to dev team, so we may be getting easy way to change preset loadouts.
some factions being locked to certain campaigns is necessity for historical purposes. you cant have japanese in normandy or africa. what is gained in this update is that german playerbase will be more flexible in 5 campaign MM, soviet playerbase more flexible in 3 campaign MM and western allies/us in 3 campaign MM depending on equipped weapon. minor factions will probably be locked to certain campaigns and will probably be mixed with their major axis or allies counterpart.
so yeah it will be more flexible.

If people didnt want to play Africa, they will either try to avoid the shit out of it or have to play it even if they dont want.

personally i would include opt out function for certain campaigns/modes (asked that question for Q&A, so i hope i will get an answer). i would make it work like this: if none of the current MM for his rating/side is being matched for campaign/mode that player doesnt want to play, player will wait in line for next queue that will be made according to campaign/mode that player actually wants to play. so instead of having parallel queues that would split playerbase, i would put them in series (queue for MM queue). i would issue warning that MM can take longer cause of such actions.
like i said if you have preset loadouts this can easily be fixed. press one button and it loads you moscow squads, press another and it loads you berlin late war squad.
overall for now there is too much guesswork on how thing may or may not work including yours and mine ideas. i would wait for Q&A till questions are actually answered and we get clearer picture.
If you already being selective with presets and queues whatever, you could also just leave it as it is.
Really, just merge the two last populated campaigns Berlin and Normandy.
preset for moscow squad could easily bring you to moscow or stalingrad, or maybe even in berlin. it more or less just makes it easier to equip different weapon loadouts with which you want to fight or fight against. it is just a way to faster switch squads and squad weapons without having to micromanage everything when you want to fight different kind of opponents.
I assumed that the current Japanese gear would simply have a substantially lower battle rating than the top tier Allied equipment. Iām more concerned with how the Allies are supposed to be able to compete against top-tier Axis equipment.

You can, you just need to hit the lower part of the gun mantlet . I remembered destroying jumbos with panzerwerfer 42 I got from custom game mods. Chi ha short gun can also do this since it has 2.64kg of explosive which is greater than 2.15kg of panzerwerfer 42.
Good luck trying to hit that at 300m+. If they die the Jumbos are probably dumb anyway.

problem of campaign queue is rigid parallel 6+ queues that need to be populated every minute or minute and half. with new system they are moving from parallel 6+ MM queues (for every campaign, so that means 8 queues at end of the year) towards flexible 3-9 MM queues on permanent basis (and that number could be easily increased to 15 to fine tune balance if player numbers allow). if there is not enough players for 9 queues they will reduce it to 8 or to 3 depending on number of players that could be matched to certain campaigns.
on peak hours when you have most concurrent players you will get more MM queues and off peak you will get less MM queues.
this is simply mathematical problem. if you have high playerbase you can do whatever MM system and it will probably work, but with low playerbase you need to be creative and flexible.
Lol Enlisted map is small and you will rarely have a engagement that is that far.
Besides that you are hitting a big gun mantlet not that damn mg port if you canāt hit it you have skill issue.

9 is more than 8 and is still ibflexible and well still dofferent queues.
