preset for moscow squad could easily bring you to moscow or stalingrad, or maybe even in berlin. it more or less just makes it easier to equip different weapon loadouts with which you want to fight or fight against. it is just a way to faster switch squads and squad weapons without having to micromanage everything when you want to fight different kind of opponents.
I assumed that the current Japanese gear would simply have a substantially lower battle rating than the top tier Allied equipment. I’m more concerned with how the Allies are supposed to be able to compete against top-tier Axis equipment.

We dont have enough mid term tanks to penetrate german cats for allies. Well thry actually exist but not in enlisted right now.
You can, you just need to hit the lower part of the gun mantlet . I remembered destroying jumbos with panzerwerfer 42 I got from custom game mods. Chi ha short gun can also do this since it has 2.64kg of explosive which is greater than 2.15kg of panzerwerfer 42.
Good luck trying to hit that at 300m+. If they die the Jumbos are probably dumb anyway.

problem of campaign queue is rigid parallel 6+ queues that need to be populated every minute or minute and half. with new system they are moving from parallel 6+ MM queues (for every campaign, so that means 8 queues at end of the year) towards flexible 3-9 MM queues on permanent basis (and that number could be easily increased to 15 to fine tune balance if player numbers allow). if there is not enough players for 9 queues they will reduce it to 8 or to 3 depending on number of players that could be matched to certain campaigns.
on peak hours when you have most concurrent players you will get more MM queues and off peak you will get less MM queues.
this is simply mathematical problem. if you have high playerbase you can do whatever MM system and it will probably work, but with low playerbase you need to be creative and flexible.
Lol Enlisted map is small and you will rarely have a engagement that is that far.
Besides that you are hitting a big gun mantlet not that damn mg port if you can’t hit it you have skill issue.

Only few map will have opportunity to do this so I say this is rare.

only thing that is inflexible is your way of thinking. currently we have 6 (or 8 by the end of the year) queues that constantly must be active whether it is peak hours or off peak. new MM can give you flexibility to populate game with human players and give equipment balance in match. when there is low number of players rating limitation gets released and you get lower number of MM queues and when there is high number of players MM gets stricter and increases number of MM queues.
here is some napkin math: so if there are 60 players waiting for game across 6 queues they will be matched 5v5 in every campaign with old system. with new system we can get those 60 players matched in 10v10 across 3 campaigns (when MM releases restriction on BR cause of longer wait time).
if there are 600 players waiting for the game in old system you will get 30 imbalanced matches across 6 campaigns. in new system you will 30 balanced matches cause BR has enough players to match players by equipment.
What if most people still queue as Axis and rarely as Western Allies? Yeah Solved imbalance issues in Normandy and ridiculous ticket rate in Tunisia. GL for Italy/ Affica finding matches I guess

btw i dont think that there should be problem with italy/africa. simply they could add similarly rated german squads cause germans were present there. it will be italy+germany vs british/US in africa. as long you go into battle with one of those nations i dont see a problem in MM.
i am not saying that all problems will magically go away, but drastic overpopulation of one side will be nerfed to a point. there needs to be different measures implemented for perfect MM balance. and that wont be solved by this update
Historically, Japan did have to encounter Sherman… I’m just not sure about Jumbo (I said that in jest).
But even the regular, first version of the Sherman would spell doom for the actual Japanese forces… if it weren’t for their very good AT bomber weapons.
Problem with next matchmaking is that if Japanese was vastly inferior with tanks, it made do with superb air force…
That will no longer be the case vs Spitfire, or hurricane, or any Normandy plane
