Grosse Panzergrenate 46 & 61 (Germany) (BR III)

Utilizing the Schießbecher “Shooting Cup” attachment to the standard Kar98k rifle, the Grosse Panzergrenate 46 & 61 were put into service, again, exclusively by the SS, churned out by Czech factories under the yoke of their industiral empire.

Considered to be a massive step forward in terms of technical ability at penetrating tank armor over the GGP 40, it almost tripled it’s predecessor’s penetration from a mere 35mm RHA (GGP 40) to a much more potent 90mm RHA (G.Pz.Gr 46), before outdoing itself again with a full 130mm RHA (G.Pz.Gr 61) of armor penetration out to a maximum range of 200m.

Like the new Mosin Zuckerman, this Kar98k variant would fire via blank that had to be manually loaded into the rifle chamber after each shot, but the massive jump in armor penetration towards Panzerfaust-level penetration would be fair compensation.

This rifle could be either a Research Tree unlock, or- given it’s power level, it might make for a good event weapon prize. Stronger than a Research Tree unlockable, but also not either so unique or powerful that it would warrant a Premium/Event Squad of its own. Personally, I’d love to see this rifle in an event, in tandem with a PzB. M.SS.1941, but I’ll make a separate post for that one as well.

Would make better BR IV & V options on G43 and FG 42 respectively.
That armor pen is too much especially when the GGP/40 currently does appropriate damage for it’s BR. (Although it could stand to have some nerfs reverted)
Putting the 61 on the two above guns for tech tree would make for better anti armor options at higher BRs and help give more AT options than just Panzerfaust spam. Even if I like Panzerfaust spam, it gets a bit much at times.

Late Grosse Gewehr-Panzergranade penetrated 80mm of armor at 30 degree angle

angles are counted the other direction here.

(0 degree penetration should be about 90mm from calculations)

The downside being that effective range was only about 50-75 m.

All 3 heavy HEAT grenades are already present in game files

(40, 46 & 61 from close to back).

46 is used by GRB-39, 61 was supposed to be used by GRB as well but got scrapped.
Grosse Gewehr-Panzergranade is currently used a ‘HE-only’ rifle grenade ingame for Kar98k & FG42.

Correct model should be this

The Gewehr 43 couldn’t use rifle grenades and the FG 42 with a grenade launcher attachment was experimental

Points at all the prototype weapons that are in-game regardless of how functional their designs were

The G43 COULD in fact use the schiessbecher, but the difference in gas pressure when using it meant it had issues cycling reliably so it was not issued en masse.

And the FG 42 with Grenade Launcher is ALREADY in game.

So precedence in game already means they could be added in.
For the G43 they can reflect it’s issue by making it launch the grenade less distance than the others. And/or have the soldier rack the priming handle between grenade shots to properly cycle the gun.
