Well M61 shot basically one hit kills all German tanks in BR2 and BR3 , well T28E also does so but at least that one doesn’t penetrate Panzer IV H 80mm frontal armor.
That being said Panzer III M is pretty broken. Ngl.
So m61 does what every other factions every single shell does. Damage. And that’s the only thing you can think of. Wow
Pretty important tho, Panzer III J1 and M with their L60 guns dont have terrible post pen damage, but they dont one shot kill targets. I dont know out of my head how fast chaffees reload, but I guess L60 shoots faster.
I dont know, no tanks should really compare to Panzer III M - if anything that one can get a nerf if anything…
My point here is that chaffee in general feels like a decent BR2 vehicle, and with M61 it would go to Panzer III M/ BT7 76mm levels - which isnt necessarily bad, but I would much rather put attention to something like Matilda - which is also BR2 but has much much worse firepower and is terribly slow, while basically also only having Panzer III M armor.
Well… actually both Panzer III M, Matilda and KV1 have around 75mm of frontal armor, but for what ever reason KV1 armor absorbs 140mm of penetration… so numbers dont always compare in Enlisted… Stalinium is real I guess.
So, again, I would rather see the devs give love to solid AP rounds dealing fair damage, than giving each tank rounds with big TNT filler.
The Chaffee has the third slowest reload of the br at 6.5 seconds while the 50mm has a reload of 3.7 seconds and the Sherman has a reload of 5 seconds
All the ally tanks besides the grant and Lee deserve to have apcbc. I’m just focusing on the Chaffee cuz it’s my favorite
I really dont think M3 is that powerful, I beat almost every M3 encounter with my BR1 Panzer III J. Its drivers hatch is such an easy weakspot to hit…
The only redeeming quality this tank has is great HE.
Again, fixing solid AP to deal more post pen area damage would help these tanks much better.
The grant has good armor high survivability 4 second reload on its 75 and ofc the extra cannon. So again buffing m24 would not change the meta at all
And if ur thinking of buffing solid shot why not just give them apcbc
Because I think that solid AP 75mm of chaffee and M3 should definitely deal more damage than L60 of Puma and Panzer III.
Crusader, A13, Firefly, Matilda and others deserve post pen damage buffs, while giving them big explosive filler would only put a bandaid on the current system
The only tanks that don’t have apcbc right now that would get explosive filler from apcbc would be Chaffee m8a1 and Grant/lee
Pretty sure all bitish tanks have a solid AP - because the brits decided they didn’t need HE filler because it being an unnecessary gimmick.

So at this point do you have any genuine reason Chaffee shouldn’t get apcbc?
Because i dont want it to one hit kill every BR1 BR2 and BR3 German tank

realistically speaking, if you want the m24 to get buffed, open a suggestion to reduce its reload time.

A reload buff is way stronger than giving it m61
