Yes its basically a primary weapon in the secondary weapon slot, still its only a bolt action.

When it really needs to lack proper sights for what ever reason, there is no reason to also only give it semi auto rifle damage.

It gets a lot less velocity because it’s basically falling out of the front of the barrel before you even pull the trigger.

If it were up to me, I would lower its rate of fire drastically but give it both proper sights and full rifle damage.

Low reload and cycle speed makes sense when you cant brace the gun, since well you have no stock.

Well okay, i get it people dont want powerful side arms, but an inaccurate bolt action with no sights and two hit kills is kinda… pathetic.

To be fair, its not like a sawed off mosin is supposed to be effective, but still, it could be better.

Semi-auto rifles have lowered damage compared to bolt-action only due to balancing reasons. So giving obrez like 20 dmg is good idea, because now there is literally zero reasons to choose it over glorious red TT

Not only it gets low velocity with no sight as well as super steep damage falloff, it also gets 250 dispersion value which is incredibly inaccurate, it is inaccurate than the most of pistols in the game. While this is understandable as the barrel literally got cut off, this thing could at least gets like 20 damage instead of 15 damage.

Correct. There should also be a HUGE fireball as unspent gun power is exploding outside the muzzle, drastically reducing the effectiveness seen in a standard length barrel. You see this when comparing a M1891 and a M38 or M44 as well. The carbines are actually less effective because of the shorter barrel. Its just physics.

maybe a mutilated rifle shouldn’t be a good weapon to use

Yeah, we need normal “Obrez” like this, with iron sights
