Give all "prone/bipod only" guns the ability to hipfire

  • Yes, permit all prone only guns the ability to hipfire
  • No, do not change anything about these weapons

The weapons that are prone/bipod only are incredibly niche and limited in their usefulness due to how “unmobile” they are in a fast paced and mobile game like Enlisted.

It was possible to hip-fire these heavier machine guns in emergency situations in real life. There was training footage of US soldiers literally firing the M1919 from the hip, so the fact that soldiers can’t do it in Enlisted is both stupid and unrealistic.

I think the devs are just trying out this new mechanic, thats all.

Old Call of Duty 1 UO had a simmilar mechanic and it was quite fun there, that being said it really makes limited sense in enlisted, because MGs aren’t crazy good to begin with.

Or actually, I am really enjoying current MG buffs, just laying down and mowing down squad at even 100 meters distance - without needing to find perfect flat ground … yeah MG update is really great.

They tried it out months ago with the Solothurn AT rifle and quite literally nobody approved of it except for the weirdos who want the game to be a milsim

Well AT weapons wasnt a main weapon, but yes, its very limiting in the context of our game - especially when run and gun mechanics are already well established for Enlisted.

As long as those “heavy MGs” dont get other significant upsides over other MGs, there really isnt a single reason to use them.

It really doesn’t help the AI bots dont know what to do at all with their “prone only guns” and will most likely just crouch and stare at you instead of trying to pull out a sidearm or anything

No, only because the Solothurn falls into the “prone/bipod only” category, and I’m against the Solothurn being able to fire off-hand. I’m also in favor of the Japanese anti-tank rifle becoming “prone/bipod only.” However, yes, it would be interesting to see a mounted Browning that can be fired off-hand. However, it would be better to only allow it to fire off-hand without the ADS, and only unlock the ADS in the “prone/bipod”.

Do you have a reason why Japan’s BR1 anti-tank abilities should be nerfed?

Yes, regardless of the gun few to none guns have enough pewwpeww power to justify it being
prone / bipod only. From MG’s id consider the M2 as only that could be nerfed with bipod / prone only due to having that ridiculous 200 round capacity and even that is event weapon.
And even that gets surpassed by RD that has least moving restrictions.

The game revolves around the run n’ gun, the MG’s are already obsolete as fk theres 0 reason to make them even worse.

Because this thing weighs 510 kilograms and is impossible to shoot offhand?

And yes, it’s the best BR1 anti-tank rifle. I think the pods are a great way to compensate for that horse-sized caliber.

While my beloved engineers carries 2x pak40 totaling roughly 3 tons in hes backpack and assembles them with hammer.

Well that can be easily fixed by granting SU and murrica event revolvers that are better than TT versions.
Or better spades.

We’re playing a video game, not a world war 2 simulator. Do you have a GOOD reason why it should be nerfed?

It’s fine to give Japan the best AT rifle at BR1 because their tanks are utterly garbage at BR1. 37mm cannons at best and pretty much less than 15mm of armor from the front. BR1 players would get rolled if they didn’t have something up their sleeve (and the lunge mine isn’t going to work on something in the grey zone). Or do you only view AT rifles against other AT rifles and don’t compare strengths and weaknesses of opposing factions as a whole?

Well, yes. And video games also have things like world logic, the atmosphere, and immersion. And soldiers shooting off-hand while jumping from a thing that weighs half a hundred kilograms will lose the first, second, and third.

Can you point out the 3 of these in a classic video game example such as Pac-Man

Pac-Man does not take place in a World War II setting.

You just said “video games” so

Within the fictional game world of Pac-Man, a spherical character eating white dots and running away from ghosts does not violate the logic of this fictional game world in any way.

And engineer carrying 3tons of parts to build 2x pak40 somehow fits to this extremely logical setting ?

It is can be allowed that this is delivered by motor vehicles or riding animals off-camera. Or that all these materials were nearby. We are not shown directly how the soldier takes all this out of his pocket. But if someone starts shooting off-hand from an anti-aircraft gun or an anti-tank gun, then that’s a completely different matter. Because it happens right in the frame.

so we could apply this to solothurn too ? While sighted, 2 midgets stands top of each other than holds the front of the gun.
They obviously disappear when not aiming thru sights.

True, we got it even better, hammering thin air.

And after the disappearance of the midgets, Solothurn falls to the ground.

At least a human can lift a hammer with one hand and swing it. However, doing this with a Type 97 or Solothurn is impossible with either one or both hands.
