Germany has gone too long without the Gewehr 98 in their TT. Every other nation has their WW1 service rifle in their TT except Germany, so it’s about time they add it!
Stats: exact same as Sniper Gewehr 98 minus the scope, that’s it. That’s all they have to do!
It should be simple and easy, just remove and replace the scope with the bayonet on the Gewehr 98 war times mod’s bayonet it uses.
They also need to fix the MP18s fire-rate and put it in BR I!
And give them the ww1 stahlhelms instead too.
And make them build the MG-08!

08/15 is a German synonym for “meh”, its literally the “meh” MG.
I would love a normal Gewehr 98, but the updated m variant, the Lange Visier (curved tangent-type sight), is not that great in my opinion.
I wish they would add much more bolt actions to the game. They are by far the most fun weapons to use.

Not only isn’t the sight picture that great (debatable, but lets just say that it is), it’s zero is also horribly off (due to shenanigans about old and newer ammunition, old pre-WW1 roundball ammo had less velocity velocity than modern spitzer bullets, but the Germans never updated the old style of sights to account for it). You’ll end up shooting too high on the target, especially at great ranges.
By WW2, almost all Gewehr 98s would have been updated to no longer have the Lange Viser anyway, so it is the best option.
