The Luftfaust (“air fist”) was an anti-aircraft, recoilless shoulder-fired weapon not really related to the Panzerfaust. There were two versions: the original Luftfaust-A featured four barrels of 2cm-caliber, firing 2cm-projectiles that weighed 90g and contained 19g of explosive, the projectiles were fitted to a little rocket stage. When fired in a salvo, the projectiles reached a velocity of 380 m/s.
The Luftfaust-B addressed the problem of the inaccurate and unsatisfactory hit groups achieved by the Luftfaust-A by kengthening the barrels and increasing the number of barrels to nine. The weapon now had a length of 150cm and weighed 6.5 kg. The nine projectiles were shot in one salvo with 0.2 sec. between the individual barrels. Although large orders for the weapon were placed in 1945, actually only 80 of these weapons were used in combat trials.
The Fliegerfaust (“airplane fist”) had the same basic design of the Luftfaust but featured six barrels with a diameter of 3cm. It was to use the 3cm - projectiles of the Maschinenkanone MK108 machine-cannon used in fighter aircraft such as the Me262 jet. These bullets weighed 330g and contained 75g of explosives. The weapon did not advance beyond the trial stage.
The Fliegerschreck
The Fliegerschreck was by the end of the war almost ready for field trials and was to use a new form of ammunition that could be used by the Panzerschreck, which enabled the Panzerschreck to be used for both the anti aircraft and anti tank roles.
There are a lot of things that could be added to the German tech family. the idea of at rockets killing infantry is one i explored with the m9/m8a1 with the M10 and T31 rounds. the use of rifle by all specialists that dont use smgs is rather repetitive. its bothersome to switch from bazooka to rifle. if one could switch from at to ap rounds instead so much the better.
That being said many people have asked for the luftfasut to be down tiered instead the Luftfaust A could be a better choice. having half the barrels four instead of 8 its a far better choice. i know little of the other two but both could work well as part of an event or battle pass. the Fliegerfaust has 6 3cm barrels instead of 8 2cm barrels perhaps it could switch br with the luftfaust b.
with 4 anti plane anti tank anti infantry weapons in game perhaps some of them could get some use. i know i ramble a lot but i think if done right we could use more explosive. just not a way to reload them i dont need one squad with a hundred kills because they stay at the back using rifle grenades like mortar shells.
Sorry for the lack of pictures but many of these things lack such. also not every faction will have every one of these weapons. i am not sure if either will be found as many nations did not heavily develop rocket at man portable weapons. the us did uk relied heavily on us weapons and ussr relied heavily on us and german weapons. Japan may have but thats not certain. i have not run into anything like the anti air rockets from any other faction.
