It is almost unknown that there were also versions of the Potsdam submachine gun designed for use with a silencer. They differed from the standard version only in that the outer diameter of the barrel up to the edge of the protective casing was reduced to 15.5 mm, while the barrel of the standard Potsdam submachine gun had a diameter of 18 mm. The difference is very slight, almost imperceptible at a cursory glance.
It is still an unanswered question how many such modified versions were produced and for which units they were intended in the last months of the war. However, the submachine guns definitely reached the territory of Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia in unspecified quantities.
Since the Mauser Werke company reported that it produced 10,400 copies within two months, of which it shipped exactly 10,000 units, it is entirely hypothetical to consider that the 400 submachine guns produced at that time, but not shipped, were subsequently modified by reducing the diameter of their barrels for the use of a silencer.
