I decided to test the performance of each nation if I have reached the same level and gear to test the balance of the game and I found out a couple of interesting things
Note: the level of the germans is 14 where the soviets are 15
–the PTRD 41 need further improvements and more accurate iron sight in order to match its counterpart the PZB 39 where it was easy to aim and destroy objects with both of them I found out that the PTRD 41 take only one bullet to destroy sandbags and AT canons where the PZB 39 take two at least from a medium-range
– the rifles that both armies offer are very good but the I find it hard to aim with the Mosin carbine 1907 and 1938 because of there iron sight where the pre-war kar98 is very easy to aim with it and more accurate
–the PPD need a buff in damage and nerf the rate of fire in order to compete with the mp 38 & 40
–the pistols of Germany is very good while the soviet pistols unless it is not Tokarev you are doomed in close quarters where Tokarev is 3 stars where its equivalent in the germans is Walter P39 which is an excellent gun and better far better than the Tokarev ( my personnel opinion )
– soviet pistols need to be remodelled and put other faster pistols to balance
– I find the soviets have the upper hand in the sniper rifles the Mosin is more accurate and it projectile is more predictable and easier to aim than the Kar98k
–I believe that Madsen and mg13 are equals just waiting for the remodelling
– I have no saying in tanks because I didn’t try them that much in order to experience everything in them
You are getting a gun with double magazine capacity and heavily increased DPS, that outperforms the MP38/40, but not the MP41 as the MP41 is OP. You do not need a better PPD.
Historically speaking PPD had fast rof to suppress enemy. It was used as “spray and pray” weapon, in real life it worked very good but in game people are not affraid of death.
In my opinion to give PPD it’s full potential we need suppresion mechanic. SU SMGs would be only non MG weapons with suppresion (within reasonable range of course).
This is my proposal.
DP-27 would be a direct upgrade, given the much larger magazine size. It was removed for a reason.
No thanks, having 71 bullets in a single mag is enough “suppression”, imo. You can swap soldiers to continue to spray 71 bullets per soldier down a choke without having to reload.
Agree, but if people cry they want better PPD then it’s the best way do buff it without buffing.
Although as you wrote somewhere PPD is not underpowered, MP41 is overpowered.
technologically advanced means nothing in a game of stats.
The MG13 is borderline balanced/OP, and the DP-27 would be too. I simply do not wish to see more direct upgrades to default weapons, in this case default MG.
I still don’t know where did you get that DP overperforms?
It functions like Madsen but with more ammo
You hardly ever touched soviets during closed alpha so how could you know
Exactly. Direct upgrade. Why use the Madsen if you can DP-27. It would have to be heavier and have a much longer reload, to make it more dependent on having a stationary position, to be balanced. (in that case im 100% fine with DP-27 as it is a sidegrade)
I have killed tons of people carrying the DP and picked it up.
Despite me never playing with Soviet soldiers, I have played PLENTY with their guns.
Madsen is more of a walking-fire MG, like the ZB-36, and both should simply be more lightweight, allowing users to walk around with them pretty easily, although they would still have significant recoil. They both can be deployed through their bipods once those get added.
Then the MG13 and DP-27 would be the heavier MGs, heck we might even consider a MG34 (consider) if we make it heavy enough to only really be usable as deployable.
All that’s preventing the LMGs from becoming the absolute meta in game is their small magazine size. Unless the LMG class gets reduced significantly in number, a weapon that performs like MG-13 but with a large magazine should never make it into the game. And yes, I played Soviets in the alpha. I know how DP was like and the current German LMGs feel very inferior compared to it.
No. I simply want things to have a balanced reason to exist.
If the DP-27 gets added in such a way so it is a sidegrade to the Madsen, I will actively support its addition.
All it needs is the following:
Cannot ADS (aim down sights) when not deployed on bipod
Faster bipod deployment time in return
Heavier, so less sprint
Longer reload (than Madsen)
Im talking in a game balance sense
DP-27 would outperform the best MG, MG13, if it were implemented like it was in Alpha.
MG13, as a sidenote, should also get the same treatment as the DP-27 as in no ADS without deploying, but faster deploy time.
Highly unlikely for Moscow.
If you want, I can make another suggestion thread on how I would like to see these implemented into Moscow.
