Flip down the Lewis gun sights

Recently players have got the opportunity to use the Lewis .303 in a event again and earn more copies of it, so now would be a perfect time to flip down the Lewis gun’s sights.

That, or somehow make the rear sight less obscuring.

Bigger hole…?

Probably just simpler to flip it down, though.

Battlefield one has a significantly bigger hole and bit thinner tangent as well, but the real difference (and this is why most Enlisted sights suck!) is that the camera is placed right behind the rear sight rather than placed at the soldiers face, just with a 2x zoom.

Though you could claim that looking at iron sights from the soldier´s view is more realistic than getting the camera moved, it is worth keeping in mind that we are at a disadvantage here because we are looking through a flat 2D screen that shows us a 3D world. In reality you can focus your vision on an object, but in gaming, the only object is your screen.

The soviet Lewis gun uses the same solution but I still think that flipping down the rear sight entirely for the .303 would be easier and better.

Soviet Lewis is on the right

For both versions of the gun ingame yes? I would love the option.

Definitely…it is very obscuring…but then again they also used it to shoot down aircraft.

Flip it down, that seems to be what most everyone wants…which is exactly why the dev’s will never do it.

This is Bren Mk1, the only gun with proper aperture sight

And this is Bren mk2, hence the rest of other guns in this game, where it’s not correctly modelled.

I personally would advocate to fix all the aperture sight in this game, after all it’s not like we don’t have the Depth of Field supported with Daggor Engine. It’s gonna take some time sure, but understand that a huge amount of gun are suffering from the lack of DoF on their aperture (so that their sight really sucks)

Why do I see the aiming illusion of a sniper rifle on a light machine gun?
