Fix the FG 42 Grenade Launcher

The FG 42 with Grenade Launcher is an old event Paratrooper squad. It, like the standard Kar 98K with Grenade Launcher, have been wrong and incorrectly modeled since the beginning. They are firing an AT grenade but it is acting as a HE grenade, it does not damage vehicles. There have been many moments where I could’ve destroyed enemy vehicles but couldn’t because this is a HE grenade pretending to be an AT grenade

The grenade modeled is the Gross-Panzergranate. It has a pen of 70mm.

There are two ways of solving this issue. Make this FG 42 w GL properly function as an AT grenade, or, change the grenade model to the HE grenade

If the current FGwGL is fixed to be a proper AT grenade, the variant with HE grenade can be added as future content. If the FGwGL is changed to HE, the true AT variant can be added in the future

  • Fix it to AT
  • Change it to HE

Don’t know if AT grenades ate gonna do much at BR 5, y’know? Maybe it the FG42 was like a machine gun with penalties in BR III, but right now? Might be better to keep it as an HE

It doesn’t much matter, as they’re the same in all ways, except that the AT grenade also works against armour.

70mm is enough for rooftop landings, it’ll work.


As for my view on the suggestion itself:

If it’s supposed to shoot a AT grenade (as in, that’s what it used in real life), then by all means it should be a AT grenade.
