I think the better way to balance it is restrict it to a squad or a class such as radio operators (max 2 per squad), since it could turn the game into a shitfest when more people get it and turn it to an even bigger shitfest if the requests of people that are asking for BAR and Johnston LMG to counter it, are taken seriously

Make the FG 42 an lmg so it can replace the Breda when that gets moved over to tunis. Either remove the m2 carbine or make it radio/mortar men only

well, for normandy, i think @wolfy706 is right, the fg should only be availabe for mortar class. considering that you can have only 2 mortar mens in one singular squad, and that squad only for the entirety of normandy. so being restricted to paratroopers only.
although, new options for americans as well, wouldn’t be bad after all. but introducing the johnson just to counter it, now that i think about it, it’s a bit dumb.

It is already to find in the folder. You can also find FG42 in Berlin. Just like MG34/42, adjust FG42 would also influce other campagins, and cause much more balance issues. For example, what’s the counter for AVT 40 then

No. STG as a rifle weapon is definitely 10 times more OP than FG42 and makes any kind of balance impossible. FG42 has an extreme high recoil which makes it very difficult to control and fire automaticaly when target is 10 meters away. In most cases it’s just a Gewehr 43 with a larger magazine(unless you are in a building).
really, why do people keep trying to answer something that’s OP with something OP on the other side. It just spreads the problem instead of stopping it.

The FG 42 should not be limited to just one squad or otherwise limited.
If that happened, you’d have to do the same with the Gewehr 43 as well.
I think the weapons distribution on both sides is actually pretty good as it is currently. I wouldn’t want to change anything.

ppl cry about the FG 42. have you seen the Soviet smgs compared to axis equivelent?.

its turret front armor is 152mm, backside is 152mm
pz4 H has 50mm fron turret armor. 8mm backside turret armor.
ever faction has its perks and downsides.
and ps. the jumbo werent even suppoce to be in normandy during this time LUL

Soviet SMG can’t be equipped by literally everybody as far as I know.

If you choose the automatic fire mode, you will hardly hit anything that is more than 10 meters away. The FG 42 is only really strong in close combat. At medium and further distances it warps strongly even in single fire.
That’s just lamenting again because you once had a bad experience with it …

even if it is worse u have the m2 carbine.
just like an un-upgraded FG-42 its still a 2shot kill with 10 extra bullets per mag.
its a decent wep tbf. and cant have worse ironsights than the FG-42 lol
then we will just lock the M1 and M2 carbine behind ur assault class. same principle.

if I want to defend a point, I sit in there with my MG, build a MG nest with my pioneer or place mines everywhere … There are so many things that are so much more exciting than the FG 42. I am absolutely against limiting the FG 42. No matter which side I play on. Everything has its advantages and disadvantages so far and the way it is up to date, it’s good. It would be a shame if Gaijin started to change things that are good just because someone whines.

Those are literally so much more boring than using the FG 42.
Except for the fact that the FG 42 is better than any of the bolt action rifles normal German soldiers can use. While the M2 Carbine is situational.

And how does that prove that full auto weapon for everybody is a good idea? Especially the weapon that was produced in very limited numbers.
