Well okay, but common BR5 and a couple of BR4 tanks can defeat that, unlike 200mm I guess, also, those side ports are not arranged like Panzer IV sideports - they have a much less extreme angle.

Meaning, even a slight tilt will turn them to flat 80mm of armor. In other words the Ferdinant player needs to 100% align his tank straight to the target, or his 150- 200mm of effective armor will quickly turn to BR3 armor. I know “just flank bro” is a dumb argument, but chances are high to hit him from an angle when you spot a Ferdinant first and engage quickly.

and if the ferdinand only face 76 and 90mm guns that would be tolerable, but the m3 75mm is just a joke facing this

like… i have no idea how the balance team even works.
thinking that either are a br IV vehicle.

now, br 0 may prolly never exist.

but to think it’s somehow equal to a sherman, it’s baffling really.

First of all Ferdiand is absolutely overtiered in War Thunder, too many people here overlook the Panzer IV style weakspots on the hull which is easy target for any BR4 tank if the Ferdinand is slightly angled.

Ferdinand is slow and has very thick frontal armour that will be impervious to almost BR3, most BR4 and even some BR5 tanks.
Its true that Churchill VII is also in a similar spot, but still this tank is historically designed to camp behind friendly lines (or greyzone in our case).

I don’t want to imagine how toxic this could be in a BR3-4 match somewhere open like Bulge.

Yes it’s true that there is a German main in me complaining that I wouldn’t use it over Tiger II on BR5, but I sure as hell wouldn’t want to be playing against it as a BR3 tank either which is why I voted for Ferdinand to be BR5.

I said my opinion on why (almost all) tds of all factions are overtiered, imo, as per the poll requirement. Take it, or leave it (it’s what voting is about.)

For example, the tank being equipped with a machine gun is a huge difference from the original version. Given DF’s monetization strategy, they’ll most likely turn it into a premium tank for sale in the next update or sometime later—just like how they distinguished between the Jagdpanther and the Jagdpanther Command Tank

I have actually seen a picture of an Elefant that got taken out frontally from a regular 75mm Sherman during the invasion of Italy.

German armor and production quality was quite bad at the end of the war.
