Ferdinand to Elefant and raise it to BR V

Instead of the Ferdinand, give us the Elefant and then move it up to BR V. The Ferdinand and Elefant have the same armor but the Elefant comes with a machine gun that’ll allow it to kill infantry. It’s armor is super good, and if it gets in a down tier it’ll be a nightmare so it shouldn’t be BR IV, but in BR V it’s on par with the other tanks and with its MG, it shouldn’t have too much of a problem with infantry. That’s all… I don’t really play higher tiers, but for you guys who do feel free to debate Each other!

I mean, let’s be honest : the devs are not going to spend the time to add the Elefant instead of the Ferdinand… too much effort for them.

Also the Elefant only has a hull mounted MG, these usually don’t work in Enlisted. Sure there are exceptions, but again this would require more “effort” from them.

I just want the Ferdi to go to BR5, that thing has more armor than a KT… we all know how the KV is supposed to be the big boogeyman of BR3, but let’s be honest : is there anything a BR3 player can do to a Ferdi from the front (except bombs obviously…) ?

Damn bro I forget that even Copying and Pasting was super hard for the devs

No, we got them working in lower tier vehicle so I don’t see why they couldn’t make it work for the Elefant

There’s an incredibly high chance the Elefant will be a premium at BR 4, then the Ferdinand will be uptiered to BR V after the update is released.

Look at what happened to the Meteor and the F-80.

uhhh, elefant and su152 could be good, mostly FLAVOR rewards for kursk event
just saying

The elefant is a 1944 modification of the Ferdi, it came after Kursk. Again, missed opportunity to add SU-152.

For now, I think it would be better to just not come out of both.
Both are Ho-Ri Season 2 from the infantry standpoint, there is no way infantry can destroy them from the front. (lack of penetration)

One day the Elefant will be added

yeah well, i was initially suggesting both su152 and ferdinand for kursk event back some years ago because ferdinand mostly associates with this battle, even if it’s completely ahistorical elephant will do too, otherwise it could be brummbar as a direct equivalent of su152

Noooo, the GRB39 is unbalanced, it beats the KV1. You German low-skills, learn ballistics! No, how are we going to penetrate the Ferdinand with a Panzerfaust 100?

They work in all vehicles where they are the only MG - but you have to change to the machine gunner position to use them

Not just low tier - Jagdpanther and Jagdpanzer IV work

I’ll take anything to get this menace to society out of BR4.

Like all Tds, if moved to the same br as the turret tanks with equivalent canons and/or armour, it will become useless and take up hangar space.

Probably why almost nobody use any. Tanks of the same br have the same gun, armour and tank advantages over TDs counterparts.

Make that as you will. Almost all TDs are overtiered imo.

Note: In warthunder, maps are… huge, and made especially for tank play. Which warrant it’s high br. in Enlisted, it will be a slug that can barely defend itself against infantry or flanking vehicles.

  • big maps are needed.

Due to the differences in gameplay between WT and Enlisted tanks like the Ferdinand are far more vulnerable to being flanked in WT, not the other way around. Enlisted infantry-centred gameplay with limited room to maneuver is more suited to heavily armoured juggernauts slugging it out at range. Any wannabe rat vehicle trying to flank to the enemy’s side of the map outside the protection of range and friendly infantry is liable to getting killed by enemy infantry.

Also, depending on how well the hull corners of the Ferdinand handle enemy fire, it might actually be better at fighting tanks than some of Germany’s pre-existing BR 5 tanks. From the front those corners have a LOS thickness of “only” about 150mm but they’re very well angled.

because the ferdinad need to be removed its a super heavy tank with an 88mm how is this br4 able to fight 75 and 76mm tanks this should be a joke but its geijini dont care its a td without a turret

Why does the Ferdinand need a BR increase? The Soviets have already received a huge number of improvements, have an excellent BR3, Cuirass, Yak9T, Yak9K, Partisan, Panzerfaust 60-100, and Tu-2 with frontal armament. The Americans have an unbalanced Meteor and F80. As soon as the Germans introduce something interesting, the Soviets constantly whine on both forums.

You constantly make concessions to the Soviets, oppose the PPSh nerf, and support lowering the KV2’s BR. But as soon as the Germans introduce something interesting, they immediately forget it. They forget everything, except that Germany needs a permanent nerf. No! Why should Germany be the only one using ersatz weapons to fight the KV2?

So let the Soviets think about how to destroy the Ferdinand. They’ll use the Yak-9T, which can penetrate 70mm of armor. They’ll use partisans, use their cuirasses to break through the flank. And don’t whine about the Ferdinand needing a higher BR!

Wow enlisted is giving a second free vehicle spot that can be used for a plane because f2p are taking a tank and not a plane. The argument that Western allies planes balance axis tanks falls apart with the squad economy,

cuz br 3 tanks (and vast majority of br 4 tanks) cant pen this. upping the br wont do anything except mean it wont face br 3. it wont face stronger tanks. it just wont face as weak ones.

yeah i check it out. Against sub 210mm penning shots ferd is better than tiger 2. but above tiger 2 is better

ferd has 30 kmh reverse, quicker reload, and better armor vs most cannons
