Ferdinand to Elefant and raise it to BR V

Accurate, it’s almost impossible for an Enlisted player to not be hypocritical

Am so sick of hearing this reasoning. The thing keeping this from being true is the fact they still get HE rounds. If tank destroyers are going to be down tiered “to compete”, then thats exactly what they should only be able to do…kill tanks. Not spam HE into objective points. That makes sense to me. But this whole thing about not having a turret and machine gun is such total bullshit. It’s hardly a handicap especially when the tank itself is superior in other ways like the 75mm puma.

It does for Jagdpanther and Jagdpanzer IV, Elefant would be the same group of vehicle… adding a MG should be easy.

Also Elefant has a cupola - which means it has an additional weakspot over Ferdinant.

All that being said, both Elefant and Ferdinant have obvious weakspots, their frontal plates where the driver and radio operator have their side view ports, has only 80mm of armor, its at best Panthers frontal armor, but when attacking Ferdinant even from a very small angle that 80mm quickly turns into flat armor.

Without HE, something like an SU 85 might as well turn to BR1. HE is the minimum for any tank, but no MGs or turret is a huge drawback.

So much for weak spot

Can you read?

It’s a weak spot that doesn’t work if the tank is engaging you or knows you’re there. You might as well say just shoot his side

80mm plates, compared to 200mm is a weakspot, sure its Panther frontal armor and very heavy for BR4, but thats not the point.

In a typical engagement. It’s only a weak spot if you got something like an is2 with fantastic angled penetration. Since the 80mm plates are angled enough where head on and even some angling they have 200-300mm of armor.

Yes, whats your point?

Point is it’s not a weak spot in majority of engagements. So why are you bringing it up.

Then, all tank destroyers simply become overpowered. Plain and simple. Not a having a turret is no justification for down tiering. It has zero impact on the tank capabilities. It’s easy enough to rotate your tank with a very simple push of a button.

Well I never said it was smart to move it to BR4, in the context of 200mm being too much armor it matters, because those 80mm sides are again weakspots

And you need to listen. The majority of the time the weak spots are going be better armor than the rest of the armor

So lets make every other br4 tank from germany, u.s., and russia useless by putting it there instead. Real smart. It has to have a real downside and not having a turret isn’t it. No HE is the most fair thing.

Just to be clear, the “just flank it” came from german players because u.s. tanks couldn’t do jack shit.

Except all other td don’t have nearly as good of armor for their br. In fact no tank in the game has as good of armor for its br as the Ferdinand.

For comparison, the Ferdinand’s weakpoints have roughly the same LOS thickness (~150mm) as the Sherman Jumbo’s UFP, the actually properly armoured thick part of it.

How is 200 flat weaker than 80 angled?

We can have both in future. There’s no reason to change more iconic Ferdinand for Elefant just because elefant is more meta.

If anything, Ferdinand should definitely be TT. And elefant could be future event/premium/whatever…

True, but what do you think about BR4? I guess its gonna be terribly slow, but being practically immortal from the front in BR4 is surely bad gameplay.
