It depends. If they were used the way they were intended, then they might have been more successful vehicles.

I have a question for developers - will we get the historical german uniforms? Like SS and symbols on the helmets etc.
People would pay money to get those uniforms if we had an option to customize them.

I would really gladly to pay for “historicaly accurate textures” as well or have option to enable them in game, but I´m afraid there will be strong oposition against the idea. But hopefully there might still be that possibility since we have NKVD uniforms.
Right now there are no SS units in game anyway, but I hope that we will get some in the future. In my opinion they could be even not described ingame as SS unit, but definetly should have those iconic camouflages. It is also obvious that there will be no SS runes or swastikas, but I think that other insignia should definetly come to game.
Very unlikely, as that would mean a handful of countries would have to ban or request seperate builds to block any banned insignia

Actually disallowing purchase for certain countries would be easy to control. That is one of the reason why monetizing it might be solid idea (plenty of players are willing to pay for historical accuracy and in theory it is easy to control to not bypass laws)

yeah that wont work. The symbols cant be in the game AT ALL with those bans.
This might be a little bit of a tangent and maybe a little bit of a rant. ( I’m sorry for hijacking I can’t seem to create my own posts)
I do enjoy the game and I have high hopes for it.
I suppose my biggest problem is hoping and wanting for a successor to Heroes and Generals with a very similar system (which this game is very alike in a way) and hoping to see similar mechanics like the perks (or medals over in that game). What I really hope to see is similar gameplay in the lone wolf mode (maybe 32 v 32 players at some point). I honestly don’t like the squad mode. In its current state, it feels very gimmicky but it may change my mind in the future when AI improves. We all know AI won’t ever replace real people buy maybe these devs have something in mind we don’t see.

Which ones? In previous Normandy tests sniper squad used SS Erbsentarn camouflage, but I don’t have any screenshots with the name of the division used for them to check.
Right now I was curious and checked if unit names are real and they are, but all of them are Wehrmacht divisions. I cannot confirm if SS camos are not used for some reason on higher level squads, but that would just not make sense.
There are indeed no official Waffen-SS units in this game. I can understand why, it remains a senstive subject, but I dont care if we get them or not. Just use their camo, that makes them stand out compared to most Wehrmacht units.

i did some researches, and @73507743 is right.
german forces during the alpha berlin test had the mortar division that were part of the SS:
but the 9th parachute were the one wearing ss pea dots uniform/camo.
although, it’s a bit ““weird”” because the insignas does not match with the real life counter part:
