My experience with the current Closed Alpha has been worse compared to the previous Pre-Alpha Test at the Battle of Berlin map. I’m going to state the current build flaws so it stays simple and easier for me to explain
Netcoding
Someone in the development team screwed up the netcoding big time. It wasn’t only me who is experiencing it. It seems others are too, according to chat. It affects bolt action weapons mostly. Compared to the Pre-Alpha Test, 60% of my shots are not landing where they should be.
PPD is too overpowered
This weapon is basically a handheld MG42 but for the Russians with very little recoil. I’ve also seen this problem with the Russian LMG (DP-28 I think). Most of the Russian weapons have a high rate of fire and very little recoil. A huge concern to gameplay balance when the game launches.
No Panzerschreck
I’m sure this was intentional to not have Anti-Tank weapons in the current build but it is annoying that you and your teammates are required to spam the ping button to mark a tank.
Tank Gameplay changes
Not sure who’s decision it was but I preferred the scroll function where you could switch from gunner, driver and commander (hatch). That kind of simple gameplay was fine for tank personnel.
AI/Player Clipping
AI and other players are able to go infront of my shots which causes the bullet to register as friendly fire. In this case, the bullets don’t penetrate them and the enemy is able to retaliate by shooting back.
To conclude this Closed Alpha review I would rate my experience a 4/10 compared to my Pre-Alpha experience which I would no doubt rather have that build. If the netcoding isn’t fixed I wouldn’t bother supporting this game. Enlisted is a fun game don’t get me wrong. The bugs are just frustrating and I’d rather deal with overpowered M1 Garand’s in Hell Let Loose than having to deal with my shots missing all the time.
I actually like the current crew switching, maybe have it as an option in controls? PPD does have q bit of recoil, but still shreds, I agree with the Netcoding and clipping, no early AT (medium range) is abit annoying, especially since tankers sit outside your AO, and running after a tank with a explosive charge is one way to get shot, so overall, I agree, but Id still play even if most of these didn’t change, its a fun game as of right now, but hopefully it will get better.
This might explain why with a PPD-34/38 most of the shots don’t register even at short to point blank range, the problem however is that I only experience this with the PPD-34/38 not any other weapon.
I can’t agree on the recoil statement of the PPD even some testers are noting that historically (& modern day tested) that it have really good accuracy for its high fire rate, German SMGs are way better now since I don’t experience that same problems with them (hits not registering) and they have far better stability & accuracy when shooting at mid range.
i can agree on this issue, i hope they fill fix it. but right now, it’s in alpha. i’m sure they will work on that
i test it, and i disagree. because you have to controll the recoil with just a few burst fire. overhall, it’s good as the mp40, where lack of rate of fire, but good accuracy. while, the PD has a good fire rate but lack of accuracy in mid-long range and you have to controll the recoil.
i made deep researches, and during the battle of moscow ( which takes part in the 1941 and 1942, but judging from the maps, more 1941), there were none rocket launcher/tube for the german side. the main AT weapons were statics guns like pak 36s, pak 40’s, and for infantry equipment only explosives, and AT rifles. because panzershreks weren’t gived to the infantry until 1942. same it goes for panzerfausts, that were not gived to the infantry until 1943.
AI behaviors it’s still a big problem.
but as the dev said, they are " tweaking " them. just a matter of time, i’m sure.
this is why you have been chosen to report and give feedbacks about the product in order to make it better for everyone.
out of place comparison, but ok.
anyway, speaking of the missing shots i’m not sure about it. not sure if it’s gun problem, or bullets not hitting them. sadly, it’s hard for me to recognize the bullet.
The Panzershreck didn’t see service until 1944, and as far as I know, the first shoulder fired rocket launcher was made in 1942. so it wont be showing up in the 1941 battle of Moscow campaign, AT rifles are the best your getting. Their will be a separate campaign with the Berlin maps if you like using the 1945 weaponry.
The PPD is good but i wouldnt compare it to the MG42, the heavy damage falloff and recoil means I’m swapping to my Mosin Carbine at least half the time I play SMG soldiers.
its proven war thunder Dagor engine likely same backend, so no reason to mess around
one of few things I really like here, had no issues on that, first time to hear about…
anyway, I would start debugging on your end not the server
let me try… you are playing on the third reich side?
here couple vids

Alot of people are having issues with their bullets not registering. I can let the issue with the PPD go for now but something is wrong with the netcoding for sure.
“bad netcode” generally means there is a decent ammount of data being transferred every second and the user’s internet speed or the server’s internet speed can not keep up. These are localized issues and do not appear for everyone.
Well as a game developer myself, I can guarantee the term is used in my industry as well
It is just a very broad term that covers the entirety of the code base that is related to networking.
Sadly, as netcode confuses and scares me, I can’t do an in-depth analysis of the issues provided here as I don’t have enough experience with making netcode.
You should make a forum report about it. Again, localized issue. I don’t have these issues so I can’t report it. Start up a thread, provide some clog files, do the stuff that needs to be done to improve the game for you
Not only for me but for many others. I’d record gameplay to show how bad the hitreg has become and compare it to other games but the game is still in NDA. If the developers refuse to read my feedback then that’s too bad.
I was hoping for a more historically accurate World War 2 shooter but unfortunately this is just going to be another generic arcady shooter. Aside from losing interest in the game, I’m sure other Alpha Testers will have a more accurate report on the bugs/etc.
You can record footage as long as it is only made visible on these forums.
This can be done by either uploading the video to the forums directly, or by uploading it to something like youtube and setting it to unlisted, which prevents anyone from viewing it without the video link.
Even then, supplying CLOG files would do much more than showing video’s as one only shows the issue, whie the other shows the potential fix for the issue.
