Hello Darkflow/Gaijin and everyone.
I have been playing Enlisted for more than 600 hours, and I honestly think the game does WW2 gameplay very well. A lot of people complain about the AI squads, but personally I see them as one of Enlisted biggest strengths. They really show how fragile human life was in large scale battles, especially on the Eastern Front. Entire squads wiped out in seconds, a real meat grinder. Hell Let Loose and Battlefield do not really capture this feeling, since they follow a more traditional FPS style.
So why am I saying all this. Because despite its strengths, Enlisted is missing something important. Depth in pacing. Right now the game constantly forces you to attack. You push and you die, you respawn, and you repeat. There is barely any time to breathe. After a while it feels overwhelming and exhausting, this is where Enlisted is weaker than games like Hell Let Loose, Medal of Honor. The battles are too dense and too fast. And honestly, WW2 was not just nonstop fighting every single minute.
Enlisted has many beautiful maps. The beaches of Normandy, the Pacific jungle, the harsh Tunisia desert, the gloomy atmosphere of the Eastern Front. I want moments where I can march with my squad, look around, and feel the calm before the storm. Even just a fleeting peace. Walking with teammates, feeling the wind on the beach, before the real fighting starts. The game already has amazing environments, but most modes turn every map into another Stalingrad/Rzhev meat grinder.
That is why I want to suggest something for future updates, maybe in 2026. I know the Enlisted team is not very large, and making big new content is hard. So instead of building everything from scratch, why not add a Night Operations mode? You could reuse existing maps, make them darker, adjust the weather, add more spawn locations, slow the pace down. If you are worried about players abusing gamma settings, the night does not have to be pitch black. Bright moonlight, street lights, fires and burning objects. Night can still be readable and atmospheric.
Respawn timers could be longer, so players have to be more careful with their squads. Losing a tank or aircraft should cost more manpower, to prevent constant spam and limit their numbers. The win condition could be simple, like a team deathmatch style system where both teams start with 1000 manpower.
This would break the monotony of Invasion, Confrontation, Assault. It would also give players a break from constant daytime lighting. I still remember when the Burma campaign had a twilight setting around 17-18 o’clock. I was genuinely excited to play it, and then it was removed in later updates. I really miss that feeling. Thank you for reading. I truly hope Enlisted can move away from nonstop, overwhelming battles and offer more variety in how matches feel. More pacing diversity would make an already good game even better.

Looking at these images, don’t you want to fight slowly and truly take them in?
- Yes, a slower paced Night Operations mode would be great, as long as gamma settings are handled properly to prevent abuse.
- Maybe, it depends on how it is implemented, especially if it can create those calm moments before the storm.
- No, I would prefer a different type of game mode.
- Of course not, I enjoy the brutal meat grinder style gameplay!
