Well, it seems that the introduction of posture restrictions for the new machine guns feels like… a bit of a step backward. What I love about Enlisted is that, unlike in BF1 or BF5, machine gunners aren’t forced to deploy bipods to go prone. If they’re going to implement such mechanics, they should have established a clear category from the start—a series of weapons that, for obvious reasons, cannot be aimed down sights while handheld.
The problem now is that the new machine guns can’t even hip-fire properly. It’s as laughable as a poor imitation that only halfway understands what it’s trying to copy, disregarding even basic historical and physical logic. This time, it’s the American tech tree machine guns, and in the future, if the Japanese battle pass includes captured American aircraft machine guns—like a 100-round Japanese “Stinger” that can only be used prone or deployed—that would be too impractical to be useful.
This is also a major issue in Enlisted: the grass is often too tall!! When you lie prone, the grass can be taller than your head, completely blocking your view so you can’t see enemies, while they might still spot you easily. I think the game now needs to either raise the camera height when prone or reduce the height of the grass. This would make deployed weapons more viable, and regular players wouldn’t have to rely on buildings or crates just to shoot while prone. After all, in mobile warfare, you should be able to engage from anywhere.
-
Increase the camera height when using deployed weapons so it’s not blocked by grass
-
Lower the height of the grass.
Also, some maps have pre-set machine gun positions, foxholes, or trenches, but for various reasons, regular players can’t really use them effectively. First, the grass is too tall—whose trench has overgrown grass blocking the view without being cleared? Second, deployed weapons often clip into the ground.
I’m really fed up with it. When I set up a weapon, half of it ends up buried in the dirt, and the bullets just hit the ground. The current mechanics for controlling deployed weapons have serious long-standing bugs that need to be fixed!

Yes, this issue needs to be fixed.

No, I don’t want to fix this. (Welcome to comment)
- Another relatively minor issue is that weapons with bipods sometimes behave as if they don’t have one when being deployed. The bipod often requires overly deliberate and precise placement to function properly, making it feel quite underwhelming.
- Currently, weapons can only be deployed on flat surfaces. Slightly uneven terrain, such as rooftops, triangular rubble piles, or slopes with even a modest incline or decline, prevents deployment. This is a significant issue. Deployment should be possible as long as there is some contact point. The restriction to only flat or vertically aligned surfaces severely limits the effectiveness of machine guns, especially in urban combat.
This isn’t an anti-tank rifle where carrying it around would be suicidal. I hope this new weapon mechanic doesn’t become a source of new bugs or a step backward historically. I’d like to see the Japanese “Stinger” be deployable, or at least allow deployment in more varied positions—like elevated spots for height advantage, lower positions for upward angles, or on tank wreckage, and so on.
It’s time to fix these long-standing issues.
