Not sure if this has been asked or answered already. If so Ill delete this post. My question is- When playing with friends, will the lobby be locked to the nation of the host, like it is currently, or will there ever be a case where there can be a mixed battle? I understand two nations fighting on the same front would be ahistorical in most cases, besides USA and Britain on D-Day etc. But maybe mixed battles could work.
Hopefully they’ll never add WTs random mixed faction matchmaking lmao.

It would help tremendously to make fuller matches. Less bots on both teams
it’s faction “locked” for the moment.
based on your equipment br.
therefore, depending on your gear ( usually of the highest between the two ) it must be of the same faction.
there are no mixes.
( therefore, most likely will be USA ( and brits since are under the same faction ) will be against Germans ( and italians ) or against japanese,
but there will be no japanese against germans / italians
or russians against USA forces
the majority of the community ( at least, on the forum ) would simply dislike that.
therefore, the " middle way " were brs.

I was thinking less of “USA vs Russia” as a possibility and more on the order of ALLIED v AXIS teams

but on second though, why not play customs if you are into that.

that’s where you will be playing ( as long the lobby has the right options ) whatever you want against whatever you want.
but it ain’t coming in the main matchmaker as people do not like it.
( hence, good luck even suggesting it. )

When the merge is first introduced, the Commonwealth and Italy will not be their own factions, apparently being subfactions of the parent American and German trees. And we already know that as of right now they will share all campaigns.
Maybe in the future they will be developed as their own factions, and maybe then they will have certain maps/campaigns shared between them while others are off-limits to some of them.

(or even axis vs allies as in Germany + Japan vs USSR + USA at Iwo Jima?)

Like I said it was a question not a suggestion. And it was more of a question of for the devs or a question of if they had mentioned anything. Not so much a question for random posters to speculate on the answer

I was clarifying what I meant in the original question in that original response, because I realized maybe saying mixed battles was confusing. Thats not suggesting
I highly doubt there will be and I honestly hope that one group of players cannot play both sides. The massive issue that arises is players feeding their friends info on where troops and fortifications are. Its just something that should not be added. Period.
Hopefully party leader are going to force single faction on all players that are currently in a party.
