PRELIMINARY RESULTS FOR Current balance megathread!
if you want YOUR vote to be part of the final results and help provide quality feedback for the developers, make sure to vote in the origional thread!
Conclusion: MP41 is too powerful according to 76% of players and needs a higher horizontal recoil to compensate for this.
Conclusion: PTRD is too weak according to 79% of players and needs a damage consistency buff.
Conclusion: MG13 is viewed as mixed, with 54% thinking it is fine as is. Other than maybe a very small nerf, it should stay balanced, as we do have to take the larger German playerbase into account here, which could skew the vote data in Germany’s favor.
Conclusion: Flamethrowers are underpowered according to 82% of players and should receive more range and/or lower chance of self burn.
Conclusion: an overwhelming 94% thought the mortar was OP and wants the mortar get nerfed by preventing it from being fired from unreachable positions such as inside spawns, as well as removing either the engineer from the squad, or removing the ability to obtain ammo from the engineer entirely.
Conclusion: 75% thought the MG nests are OP. But this could also be because of historically inaccurate MG42s being used instead of older weapons such as maxim MGs or MG34 /w lafette mounts. The majority of players wishes to give MG nests limite d ammo and reloads.
Conclusion: 68% of players wishes to see the damage difference between the two nations to be removed for bolt action rifles. Due to the larger German playerbase, we should not just buff the weapons as it is likely that the majority just voted yes to have more powerful rifles than the Soviet rifles for a change.
Conclusion: A minor majority wants to see starter rifles (M1907/Gewehr 33) to be buffed to be more inline with the rest of the rifles. I think this minor majority should be counted as this is a buff that benefits every player, especially new players.
Conclusion: A total of 57% of players thinks the Pz2C outperforms the opposition. This mainly comes from the sometimes seemingly buggy damage models that take less damage than they should. Reducing the frontal armor by nerfing the armor quality could fix this, or nerfing it to early pz2C models, which had 14.5mm frontal armor.
Conclusion: A massive 85% of players wants to see the Pz3B to be removed from the game, with 68% wishing to see it replaced with the somewhat iconic Panzer 38(t) (model A).
Conclusion: A massive 81% of players wants to see the 37mm HE shell to be buffed and changed to the historical shell.
Conclusion: while of the more controversional ones, a total of 68% of players wishes to see the effectiveness of the health perk to be reduced or removed, with 47% of players voting for that removal, while only a mere 24% thinks it is fine as is. As such, I think it needs a massive nerf to <10% (probably 5%) while not being removed. This would also fix issues related to bolt action rifles, as their main issue is lackluster damage towards enemies with the vitality perk.
Conclusion: Another controversional one, 51% thinks it should remain unchanged, while 46% wants it nerfed or removed. As such, at least a minor nerf to 100% increased medkit effectiveness instead of 200% should be in order.
Conclusion: Similarly to the medkit perk, while the slight majority thinks they are fine, there also is a massive ammount of players wanting to see them removed entirely. As such, they should see a minor nerf to 35-40% from 70% reduced recoil.
Conclusion: Pretty simple majority vote wanting to see more weapons for Germany, that gives them as much options as the Soviets.
Conclusion: The majority of people want to see a T-34 tank for the Soviets. However, they agree to give it downsides such as very poor sights and/or other limitations for it to remain balanced, as otherwise it would become too powerful.
Conclusion: A masive majority wants to see the Pz4C and T-28 as infantry support tanks, both offering low armor and a powerful HE shell.
Conclusion: A massive 80% of players dislikes the current implementation of premium squads and 34% of them wants to see them removed outright. While this probably is not possible, what should be possible at least is the removal of premium squads from the store, as well as removal of them from future implementation. Instead, these players are in favor of adding cosmetic items as a replacement. The other players wish to heavily nerf the squad.
Conclusion: 70% of players do not like the current implementation of the flinch mechanic and wants to reduce the effect.
Conclusion: 78% of players do not like the current implementation of weapon upgrades, with the majority thinking RNG is to blame, while the rest wants to see them be turned into sidegrades instead of upgrades, with the leftover 22% thinking they are fine as is. As such, at least the RNG should be removed from weapon upgrades as it leads to a lot of frustration and inconsistent progression.
Conclusion: The last pair of votes gives an interesting result. The majority of players think that players are both too vulnerable and too powerful inside their spawn, with mainly tankers and mortarmen being too powerful when used inside their spawn, as it removes a lot of counterability as explosion packs can not reach the tank, and the mortarmen often become entirely invulnerable. As such, make it impossible for those squads to fire their weapons from inside their spawn, while also reworking the spawns to either provide more cover when moving out of spawn, or offering more spawn points to make it harder for the enemy to lock down spawns.
