I dont know why the devs dont do so much with the customization options as the modders (and heck partly the devs themself looking at SG) show that is achievable. I (and guess many other people) thought that they would create a goldmine with this but its seems like their laziness is greater than their hunger for our shekels.
( perhaps a translation lost in the translator. yes. i am a despicable fake german that does not speak any of it despite being of 100% german blood. it is what it is )
agreed
you know, this part is kinda what made and makes my pointless.
though, they gain somewhat my sympathy.
the cosmetic team did and keeps doing a great job. because most cosmetics that are in the editor are the proof of it.
it’s just that the other team ( perhaps a bit generalized since there are many teams ) don’t have alot of time to introduce them.
i’d be happy as starter to see them in the editor and use them for custom mods. and show the potential.
Thank you Erika. But most of the examples are very goofy, even within the “framework of Enlisted cosmetic understanding”. Turning everything into a colorful circus would only make things worse. I think that would be a step back, not forward. Gray zeltbahn? Please no.
The only thing that should be done at the moment asap is to separate the individual parts of the equipment. In other words - shoes, pants, belts, canteens, y-straps, etc.
If it was possible to assemble the soldier in an orderly fashion one piece at a time (instead of just the bottom part, the top part, the helmet and that’s it), it would even be enough to build a sufficiently period-appropriate soldier model from the current already created in-game equipment.
perhaps i haven’t made my self clear, but the idea is to give and offer more color variations for more composition instead of less.
an example is and was the stalingrad german customization ( or any customization for that matter ) good effing luck trying to match camouflaged uniforms. or even just have pants matching the helmet.
you know. basic things.
Which yes, I hope it will happen.
something that i suggested before, and believe will only happen after the merge.
but still doesn’t justify the lack of majority colors.
which it’s why this suggestion exist. to give an idea and suggestion. not a final product.
you take that back.
even though there’s 0 proof that those were used, enlisted is not HA anyway.
therefore, as they them selves made up camouflages and what not, i don’t see what it would hurt more selection for more tastes and selections.
that’s, the main idea.
honestly, i’d be just happier with having a much light greenever version of some outfit, get the luftwaffe, and majority of the gray equipment for all campaigns and seasons ( outside the desert one )
but since we have also other camouflages ( but for not all pieces ) why not add those as well.
anyway, i’ll be making more examples. but due to lack of time always being away from my computer, it’s kinda a challenge.
To be honest, I’m not against it. Because this train has long gone, and I don’t expect anything to change in the near future. But I also wouldn’t want it to be a certain trend that would only worsen the already existing situation. If you want it, I have nothing against it. I am free to express my opinion in an open thread. So in this case I have my own opinion.
The gray Reichswehr Zeltbahn was replaced by the Splitter Muster Model 31 at the start of the war by statute. Gray was used only by certain paramilitary organizations, and in small quantities exclusively by the Waffen - ss.
… but - if we are already playing by these rules, I want to see German Fallschirmjäger soldiers in Berlin with dot pattern smocks, which were produced in small quantities by the SS clothing factory at Dachau but none was ever issued in reality. But hey -
i modified the colors by giving them other types of textures through entities.blk.
essentially, i took some camouflages from vehicles, some pieces of clothings and textures from various objects and applied those onto current outfit.
currently, there are no white / gray / camouflaged Zelthbans outside the 2 splinter variants. ( and pretty much nothing that is being shown is present outside the default colors on certain pieces )
which it’s why i’m suggesting to add more colorations for more enivorement.
as, explained above, not all clothing have varients for all seasons nor enough for one season either ( in some occasions ).
also, the reason why i’m asking/suggesting, it’s because i’d like those to be in the main game.
i could not bother and just use the editor/mods, but the problem with it, it’s that entities currently do not work online.
so people couldn’t really experience or see for them selves various outfit that i made unless they play mods in local.
( which would mean, one player only. and well, mods played alone it’s not the cup of tea of everyone. )
A damn shame, well regardless, very cool examples Maybe they’ll take inspiration from these, anything’s possible. At the very least I’m hoping for a little more effort with the customization with the new update. Thanks for sharing
dont forget one major detail; we need to have the option to choose what will the soldier carry on him, belt equipment wise, we should be able to choose if we want just ammo pouches for example, or if we want to have everything, holster, backpack, breadbag, gas mask canister, knife holster, and so on. right now we cannot select this, and we get it via different torso tops. thats about it
It ain’t more major than the fact that you don’t even have all type of season uniforms.
I’d argue both are somewhat on the same level as both present an actual issue.
Such as UK, italy and US missing uniforms.
Merge is about to drop, but we don’t have many winter uniforms or desert ones for the others etc.
Beside, they did Aknowledged my first suggestion regarding the lack of selection ( I think. ) I aint gonna be stuck there forever and keep making the same suggestion over and over. Have to move on and address the other issues related to it and makes it better.
As the more cosmetic we have, the better is for everyone.
but anyway, where there will be the " x ", is where you will have to give your custom name as it creates a template.
and where there will be the " X " is where you’ll insert a texture:
which you can play around. but keep in mind that it will only work in solo. and not multiplayer )
Additional Volkssturm Uniforms on trenchcoats that i would like to see in the game:
( for more info, check their own thread and i apologize for the cross posting. but i only learned a few days ago how to change texture which it’s somewhat better than my PH ““abilities”” )
