Confrontation should have a time limit


30 min per match is far too long for a game. the game should no longer than 20 minutes

It’s nice to have a longer game… until said longer game becomes a 2 hour ordeal. There should be a time limit or adjustments to team resources.

I’ve heard of games going for 6 hours.

This problem comes from reinforcement, if both team focus on objective instead of killing so both consume similar or less supply to capture an objective compare to the reinforcement received after captured a point, the match last for very long time because supply points of the two side consume slowly and the last objective is usually difficult to capture. A solution could be as the match last longer, reinforcement become less after an objective is captured.

With some small tweaks of the code they could make reinforcements tickets to decrease over time.

Should solve the issue.

You have 25 minutes to capture the point, after that time the game ends. And so this time is reset because each time you take a point.

That rule dosen’t applies on confrontation, though.

In confrontation the timer reset at each point, this mean unlike conquest, if both team capture and lose point with low reinforcements usage the battle can last forever

Yes? I didn’t notice that there is no time limit in the confrontation.

It doesn’t last forever. The most I played was 55 minutes and I like it. And it ends with the defeat of the first one who loses all points.

Kahif is bugged. So it lasts forever. Until one team finally break through.

On a serious note:
They tried to fix the issue with the new confro-maps (Al Jabar for example) the problem was the that the tickets depleted too fast. Before the last point even was opened.

I believe it’s fixed now anyway.

I think they already do. Played many matches we had to pingpong between 2 points (Pacific, house on the beach right across a river close to a ridgde). We couldn’t cap it, the enemy couldn’t cap anything either.

Lasts so long that eventually, capturing does not give any reinforcements. It has a bit of a “sudden death” effect.

Imo confrontation need incentivaze attack and recapture the point better

Cuz when they find that sweet spot confrontation is an amazing game mode!

It feels like a real battle, where “tactical retreat” is a thing but by no mean equates to defeat, and allow for said team to compose itself and push back.

As it should.

But I understand why some ppl dislike it. Enlisted as a whole is extremely arcade, very fast paced with nobody caring for one’s life preservation, probably because you can switch to another bot when killed, a bit like in the altered carbon books, where you can switch “sleeves”. This mode is completely different.

I personally like slower, longer battles from time to time.

I would say any time below 40 minutes is generally fine because a balanced invasion match may go up to that time as well. Not longer than that because time of a game should be still expectable.

Call of Duty is often derided on these forums, but I like that game. One of the things I like about it is that it has a game mode that takes 5 minutes to complete. That is good for a change of pace.
I hope this game will also allow you to pick a game mode to start in the future, once the player base issue is resolved.
And when they do, I can choose between a game mode that can be played for a long plenty of time and a game mode that lasts for a short amount of time.
