So I have a concern in regards to the US and British tanks in Normandy. We will be versing King tigers but we don’t have a tank that is equivalent. The three “end game” tanks all are running the exact same cannon which was struggling as it is against panthers. Facing King tigers I feel like is going to be so one sided that the allies will struggle.
yes, the allies have the p-47 which is powerful. But I don’t really look at that side due to any aircraft with a skilled pilot can counter any tank.
Only options i can think for terms of balance is to give the allies a better shell to better combat the king tiger, give the allies a tank that can better combat them. Which I’m aware they didn’t have anything at the time. But lets face it, the jumbo Sherman wasn’t in the Normandy campaign which throws realism out of the window as it is.
Possibly giving the allies something like the 76mm jumbo would mean that possibly the king tiger will struggle to pen the front of the jumbo and the jumbo would be the same. (i dont know if the KT can pen the front of the jumbo due to not having one)

They should get Pershing as soon as possible and free progression Firefly.
They should get tanks like M6, T29 and jumbo 76 as well.

I believe the 76 jumbo would be a little more viable for balancing reasons. As much as I love the Pershing I feel as that would push the balance to far over to the allied side.
The firefly also struggles hard against the king tiger with what i have tested. its still also kinda unreliable against the panther front plates
Firefly needs better ammunition with explosive filler. But I am not history expert, don’t know if anything like that was available.
It could be potentially pretty good tank.
The historical standpoint of enlisted is already gone with the fg-42 and how many people run that. theres also the line of being historically accurate or fun. In terms of historic accuracy. the firefly had access to apds and was known to be able to knock out tigers and panthers with ease. but the 50mm penetrator (the part of the round that penetrated the target) was less powerful than the standard APCBC shell.
I know I know front pen one shot xD, but I’m pretty sure various vehicles are still able to damage the King Tiger
From the side, yes. From the front. No. i dont care if its a slugging match to be honest. but being able to be killed instantly with having no way to react if their facing you isn’t that fun xD it was already a struggle fest against the panthers with 76mm shermans. now we just got something thats even more of a strugglefest

In Berlin, the lend lease Sherman 76 can kill KTs in one shot if you know where to aim. Both version too.
Just not sure if gun was enhanced for balancing or Normandy 76s will do same?

You can oneshot KT by basically anything if you aim for the side of its turret.
im unsure what shell the lend lease Sherman is using.
thats if you can manage to get the side of the turret. or flank the tank, Which still runs into the problem of the tiger, panther and king tiger all can just hit you in the front and kill you. The tiger 1 isnt as bad because you can pen them from the front.

I personally think tank combat is perfectly fine. Sometimes you one shot, sometimes you get one shotted.
I always have fun no matter what. Spawning and getting blown up over and over again is just the times of a combined arms war game

Well. Even WT doesnt make up shells that never existed I think.
Ja. Lets waste more tickets of your team and meanwhile claim you are supporting your team.

(Pretty sure they had fun or at least the Panther)

I’d argue some of these instances have more to do with map design than the players. Ironically in a way it shows us what would’ve happened if Hitler allowed the Panzers to respond on the beaches lol
If it was that Normandy farm map that is very open and has a lot of cover, Stuarts and such would be able to slip in. Or Omer or that Church map that have winding streets to slip into
And like I’ve said before I don’t look at teamplay numerically or statistically, like getting X amount of kills. But more “in spirit” or the “thought counts”. In my view the guy getting a bajillion kills and the sniper sitting in the back are both helping the team.
And personally I never mind when I get blown up. It’s just what happens. Like I say I have win or losing because I enjoy the game so much regardless. If I was in that Panther slaughter match and I certainly wouldn’t complain. I just role with the punches.
But that’s just me

normal pershing wouldn’t be able to compete so it would have to be the super pershing against KTH
I wouldn’t be so sure of it. Idk why, but I always had feeling some tanks are artificially boosted in comparison to other.
For example Panther’s front plate is extremely overperforming for some weird reason.
But maybe I am just disillusioned.
But I agree, they should add Super Pershing as well!
Allies relied on air power for this exact reason irl.
I see no problem with asymmetry in equipment.

Idk, tbh planes are less versatile than tanks in enlisted. You can always get out of tank anytime it’s really needed. For example if you need bodies on objective.
You really cant do this so fast with planes. I think allies do deserves some better ones.
Especially since irl they had very advantage in matter of numbers of tanks.
In enlisted, it’s always (when both slots are used) just 2 vs 2.

The real way to counter this problem is to figure out incentivizing tanks to PTFO and not sit away from the battle.
They can’t capture points, but maybe something like xp gain for being within a certain radius of freindly infantry? Idk
With the sit-back and camp gameplay yeah, of course you need a direct counter for your own team. But if the tanks are all staying relatively mobile and relevant to freindly infantry, then the meta changes
