Concern about tank balance Normandy

Yeah, i would really like if every vehicle type had some kind of bigger purpose/objective.

Currently they’re just farming death machines.

Whenever I play as vehicles I never just sit in the gray zone. I’m always pushing towards the objective and I charge near infantry in a way so they support me while I support them. Even when I’m a SPAA in the Pacific even though they are lightly armored because my firepower is more important than my survival

Yesterday in Berlin I was sitting right outside the building objective basically at the front gray zone line (so the front end of my team’s area) just because I decided to guard that particular spot, even though I could’ve been an easy target. I then oriented the tank diagonally so I could dash across the street to fight any incoming vehicles and move to a new position but the match ended

With me it’s all about the moment to moment decisions and actions

As I say sometimes you get blown up, sometimes you’re the one blowing up others.

Why do we bother listening to the people demanding strict historical accuracy? Why do we bother listening to the people who X or Y

I shouldn’t have to explain this but we are all apart of this community because we all love this game. But of coarse we all have different views, ideas, and perspectives. There are various camps within our community. Like the people who want strict HA, or me who is basically “semi historical”.

Otherwise we might as well just only listen to the SuperN00bDestroyer420xDs who are at the very top of the entire game’s leaderboards and everyone else should just shut up

It’s like I’ve had ideas on new Engineer constructs and radio call ins, and other people make posts about more historical accuracy or whatever. It is good that we are all always debating and discussing different things.

Point is, we all love this game and we all have different ideas. A forum is self explanatory. We’re basically the legislative branch and we all know councils are always bickering and arguing

More people and usually they have actual factual arguments and dont come with feelings.

And guess who is right?
Not really the people who keep telling us that the game is perfect and funny enough most of those people are hiding in custom battles or have such low expectations on players that they may be shocked to find out the game is plagued with bot squads.

Your boogeyman was more right than you.

People ask for balance and tips, not how to get blown up even more.

Let me explain, I mean that one should roll with the punches as expected with a combined arms game. It’s like sometimes I have matches where I’m a heavy duty tank (not a Stuart) and I’ve been blown up repeatedly. I say welp it just happens. I have seen vehicle players quit because they were blown up

Now onto a tip, obviously a Stuart can’t take a Panther frontally, but it can damage the sides. A Stuart on say that Farm map has much better chances than on D Day, but like I said that’s just an inherent characteristic because of map design

Now personally, as you know, I say a player should play whatever they want. I know not everyone is going to want to role with the punches, but I shouldn’t have to go into explaining blah blah forum blah sharing perspectives whatever. Me I enjoy playing a Stuart just as much as flying or being a Panther or a Pershing

Or how in the Pacific the Ka-Chi is one of their best armored vehicles, and sometimes I feel like playing that and sometimes I feel like playing Ha-Go. I don’t mind playing the Ha-Go on basically every Pacific battle right up to Iwo Jima and Okinawa. But maybe sometimes I’ll just feel like playing the heavier Chi-Ri

Im pretty this includes getting killed by greyzone tank that cant be flanked and having 50% bots as allies.

Which depends entirely on maps and 50% are D-Day and Ver-Sur.
Really usefull to rely on the mm which map he gives you to actually use a light.

Nice and all that but that still doesnt make it on par with the Jumbo.
This all also doesnt make the M5 on par with 76mm cannons since they dont rely on maps.

(sorry i been busy at work and sleeping)

The game is fun. But it just more feels like the 3 end game american tanks are all basically the same with the exact same cannons. Which we are facing tiger, panther and king tigers.

its something that we cant tell till more people are playing. But just based off of what i have tested. it more looks like the ground combat will possibly be far one sided and may result in just spawn killing and sever one sided matches

yes, WT doesn’t make up shells. But WT has different shell selections available that you can use on the fly if you have them in the tanks. Enlisted doesnt have the option of that variety of shells.

I’m just gonna say that the T29 would be a lil too strong for this game… ESPECIALLY if we are talking about the E3 variant.

T34 only have 45mm front plate vs Panther 60/80mm, magic slope armor in this game negate all det pack damage

Because doing more than 2, no one in your team will play objective, but then like they ever do that to begin with

As someone who used to play the crap out of allies, they absolutely need some new heavy tanks for post merge, for multiple reasons, as brought up above.

  1. The existing 76 shermans just aren’t going to be enough and no matter how much german mains whine about asymmetrical balancing, the key word is still “BALANCE”. You need to have a fighting chance to win and while the 76’s might be able to win some of the time against panthers, this will absolutely not be the case against the heaviest german vehicles such as the Jagdpanther or the King Tiger. The allies simply will need to have tanks at the level of german endgame vehicles. It’s okay if they’re made to be inferior in some way since it would still balance out but you still need to realistically be able to win. Anyone who whines about asymmetrical balance just wants to endlessly one shot enemies through the front plate who can’t do the same back to them.

  2. Allied tank variety sucks - Normandy is almost nothing but shermans. Let’s be honest, the tank destroyers as they are now completely suck. Wiping them out with infantry is INCREDIBLY easy and their armor is equivalent to an armored car. Tank Destroyers should get better anti tank shells than all-rounder tanks like shermans. It’s already going to be balanced out by the paper thin armor and the open tops, neither of which are problems german tanks ever have to deal with. I was hoping my hellcat would move like it did in War Thunder but this just isn’t the case. The M26 pershing would be a great lategame addition just a a “NOT SHERMAN” tank. Or even better, they could pad out the tree with a variety of british alternatives to the american tanks for post merge. It might be GREAT to see the occasional cromwell or comet (but we all know that new british tanks will only show up as premiums).
If you really have issues with making a heavy tank for the americans a normal option, here’s what you do instead. Add the M4A3E8 “Easy 8” sherman, and the M36 Jackson, as super endgame american tanks to be their equivalents. Balance will be maintained because the jackson will still have thin armor despite a heavy cannon (like tank destroyers SHOULD be) while the Easy 8 would be extremely easy to add, just being a new sherman variant with slighty better performance then the earlier 76 shermans. Then you could add alternate american heavy options such as the pershing, as either the endgame unlock or as a premium tank for allied players. German Infantry VS Tanks play against these options would be essentially the same balance wise, as it is right now with tank destroyers being piss easy for infantry to deal with and shermans generally requiring you be abit more careful with TNT placement (but still very doable)
