Colt Lighting rifle as Japanese BR1 asssauter's BP weapons

According to a 1899th catalog of Kanamaru gun shop, various caliber of Colt Lighting rifle were imported to Japan, include .45-85(11.6×53mmR), .44-40 Winchester (10.8×33mmR) and .32-20 Winchester (7.94x33mmR)

However, the one chambered in .45-85 would be too powerful for an assaulter’s weapons, so here I am going to introduce the other 2 calibers and their custom options.

.32-20 Winchester

  • 射第百O一號:12-Shot, 20 inch barrel, 750匁(2.8kg)

  • 射第百O一號乙:Baby carbine version,630匁(2.4kg)

.44-40 Winchester

  • 射第百O二號:12-Shot, 20 inch barrel, 750匁(2.8kg)

  • 射第百O一號乙:Baby carbine version,603匁(2.3kg)

  • 射第百O三號:15-shot, 26 inch barrel, 810匁(3kg)

  • 射第百O四號:Same as above, but with octagon barrel,870匁(3.3kg)

As you can see, these rifles are very light, even lighter than the S&W Light Rifle (3.1 kg) and the Beretta 1918/30(4kg), even thought it’s not a semiauto rifle, the rate of fire is still very impressive.

I personally think the one with 15-shot and 26 inch barrel(射第百O三號) is the best option for Japan. Despite having lower ammo capacity and reloading speed, the damage would be an advantage. Since assaulter can use the pump action shotgun, giving them a pump action light rifle would be reasonable.

I think this could certainly fit nicely as a BR1 battlepass or event weapon for sure! Wonderful find!

I agree that this weapon should be added to enlisted since the allies also had Winchester 1866 rifle as an April fool event. But it should only be added by an event or battle pass.

I love the Winchester 1886, would be cool if Japan got a lever gun too ( Edit: just realized this is a pump action, so to similar effect but I was mistaken).

I think it’s BR 2 or 3—definitely not BR 1; the firing mechanics are quite interesting, somewhat like a shotgun.And it has a 15-round magazine—what kind of damage will it deal?

It’s chambered in .44-40 Winchester (10.8×33mmR) , I guess the damage is between 10-12. The main reason I prefer it to be BR 1 is the reloading speed.The one chambered in .45-85(11.6×53mmR) is more suitable for BR 2, which has 10 round capacity.

But someone wrote that it holds 15 rounds—has the capacity changed to 10 now?

Two different cartridges. .44-40 winchester is 20mms shorter than .45-85 thus less capacity

I mean, they have a better one for BR2, which is not introduced in this topic. I will write another topic about it.

just remember they did as well with the old Spencer New Model Rifle in Meji period, they are a lot of murican imported guns (and other countries too) prewar period who they purchased

I like the idea but I’ve voted no only because I think it should probably should go in the same ‘everyone can use it’ slot that S&W LR goes in… so not restricted to assaulters.

These are really neat Rifles! I like the idea of them as Event weapons for sure.
