Stalingrad remains the most problematic campaign in terms of customization. Although Manchuria, with its Japanese in shorts, can argue with that.
At the very start of the Stalingrad campaign, there wasn’t a single winter map at all, but it was full of winter camouflage suits and overly warm clothing, such as “valenki” felt boots and ushankas with closed ear flaps.
Over time, a winter map, “Tractor plant,” was added to Stalingrad, and Stalingrad was also merged with winter Rzhev. However, customization in Stalingrad remains a big cringe.
The most cost-effective solution is to remove all winter clothing and retain clothing suitable for both winter and fall. This way, the soldiers’ appearance will be just as appropriate in autumn Stalingrad as on the winter maps of the tractor plant and Rzhev. Greatcoats, “Vatnik” jackets, ushankas with open earflaps, balaclavas and so on.
Poll: Not having something that can be present in this biome is better than having something that cannot be present in this biome. Do you agree with me? Would you like to see only autumn clothes left in Stalingrad?
- Yes
- No
However, I’m here primarily to propose a dynamic shift in camouflage depending on the climate. Specifically, green camouflage suits in autumn Stalingrad and white camouflage suits in winter at STZ and Rzhev. So, essentially, the customization element applied to the soldier simply changes color depending on the biome. These aren’t two different entities. They’re a single entity with dynamic color change. Yes, for this option you will have to replace and remove some elements of clothing.
Available by default “valenki” felt boots should be replaced with cowhide soldiers’ boots with puttees or with “kirzachi” boots. Those “Valenki” boots that were purchased with green cards must be removed with a refund of the green cards.

Available by default “ushanka” hats with closed earflaps should be replaced with “ushanka” hats with opened earflaps Those “ushanka” hats with closed earflaps that were purchased with green cards must be removed with a refund of the green cards.

Do the same with German hats.

This battle pass hat should simply stop being available in Stalingrad.

All default white camouflage suits should be replaced with overcoats and jackets. Those purchased with green cards will remain in place and will change color depending on the biome.

Now let’s talk about camouflage suit replacements.
Overall, the game already has very similar pairs of camouflages for different seasons.
German winter tunic (I couldn’t find the correct name for this thing) and the zeltbahn m31.
German winter camouflage suit and uniform with dot(GET THIS DAMN OUT OF STALINGRAD) - 44
Soviet winter camouflage suit and camouflage suit with an “amoeba” pattern.
The game’s light green zeltbahn would look absolutely dreadful in Stalingrad. DoT44 didn’t appear until 1944, and the amoeba-patterned camouflage suits didn’t appear until 1943.
For this reason, I would suggest adding new camouflage options.
Let’s start with the zeltbahn m31.
I was able to find one like this without the camouflage pattern.

This color would suit Stalingrad well. It’s a matter of taste, but I still don’t like how it would look in Stalingrad.
However, you can change not only the color, but also the way you wear it. And there were countless ways to wear this thing. Even like this:

In my opinion, this way of wearing it would look best in Stalingrad.

Now, with a little neural networks, Photoshop, and black magic, we can see what a zeltbahn could look like in this color and worn this way.
To me, this looks like the perfect autumn alternative to the German sniper uniforms in Stalingrad.
Now let’s talk about Soviet snipers. There’s one early-war camouflage suit in the game. However, I don’t believe the developers would just make event customization available to everyone. And this grinch-like look wouldn’t look very appropriate in the urban locations of Stalingrad.

Now look at the winter clothing of this detachment.

It’s literally the same model, just with a white texture and without all the rags. You can simply apply the texture from the first model to this and we will get a new thing that can be added to customization. However, I couldn’t find any photos of this suit without the rag fastenings.

Looks like I’ll have to look for something else. And maybe I found it. However, I couldn’t find any better photos.

Now, regarding German camouflage suits, the best option for autumn would be to use the gray Wintertarnanzug (which, for some reason, is only available to tankers).

Options for replacing white helmets.

Yes, I wrote that “amoeba” pattern camouflage suits only began to be used in 1943. However, this doesn’t apply to other pieces of equipment, like this helmet cover. Photo from the battles at Khalkhin Gol.

An interesting fact: the Germans did not hesitate to use captured “amoebas”.

And this photo was taken in Stalingrad itself.

Let’s finish with the “amoebas.” Let’s return to other options:

I’m not sure what year this thing is.
So, would you like to see some clothing items dynamically change depending on the biome?
- Yes
- No
