Chinese subfactions for USSR and allies

Chinese involvement is a very important and interesting part of World War II that definitely deserves good representation.

However, with all due respect to the heroic struggle of the Chinese people against Japanese occupation, simply handing over the Chinese to the US and the USSR to participate in military operations on the same maps completely destroys the atmosphere of World War II. (If there was any atmosphere left in this World War II game at all.) Moreover, I consider it disrespectful to history, to the real defenders of Stalingrad, to the soldiers who fought in the Ardennes, and to the Chinese who participated in World War II.

Therefore, I propose adding Chinese subfactions for the USSR and the USA.

Currently, the USSR and the USA have Chinese units that actually fought alongside them in only one of the available theaters of operations.

What will these subfactions be like?

1 ) China + Western Allies

This subfaction will be available to players with the Liu Rifle and the Thompson 7.63. Only Burma maps will be available to this subfaction. Any US unit will be available to this subfaction. Battles can be entered as long as there is at least one Chinese unit in the setup. Matchmaking: players who choose the Chinese subfaction will be matched on Burma maps alongside players who choose the Western Allies subfaction. If there are at least ten players who choose the Chinese subfaction, the Allied team can be formed entirely from players who choose the Chinese subfaction.

However, this may result in Pacific maps being encountered less frequently when facing Japan. Well, Pacific maps are simply terrible, and I don’t think many would mind never seeing Pacific maps and always playing Burma.

2 ) China + USSR

Basically, it’s the same. The subfaction becomes available to owners of the PPSh(S) and the upcoming squad with the [REDACTED] arsenal SMG. The team is formed from players of the Chinese subfaction and the USSR. This team is sent only to Manchuria maps.

What will the selection of this faction in the menu look like:

When selecting Western allies, a button for selecting the Chinese subfaction appears.

And I really hope that these two symbols really mean China.

For those who want to use these squads on any map in overall matchmaking, a checkbox can be provided that changes the nationality of these squads to the nationality of the main faction and changes the weapon skin to the skin of the closest analogue available to the main faction, but retaining the same characteristics. And one more checkbox that allows you to see the real weapon skin and the real nationality of this squad and hear its real voiceover.

P.S.

I would also like to propose for consideration the possibility of adding the following sub-fractions in the same way:

French colonial forces - Tunisia. (And potential Pacific Front maps where French colonial forces could have fought.)

French resistance - Normandy (all maps except the landing itself)

Volkssturm - Berlin, Seelow, and Wald. (And potential German maps for the Western Allies.)

I’d like to highlight Britain and Italy separately. These will be subfactions with their own research tree and development.

However, I understand that adding more than one such subfaction to the main factions is unlikely with the current matchmaking.

Well the devs could add the french ardens helmet and French military uniform to the French resistance squad as a option. Might be cool. Plus the french served in Africa too, Don’t forget about that.

I agree. But right now I’m talking specifically about the units that are already in the game. There are Moroccans in the game, and if I’m not mistaken, the Senegalese fought in the Ardennes.

Or at least this nice skin for those damn Moroccan robes.

And now I’m thinking that perhaps I didn’t understand you quite correctly.

Is this what you mean?

Italy, Commonwealth, Finland, France may take a higher priority in this subfaction idea.
Also a Soviet Lend-Lease subfaction.
Japan can get IJA and IJN separated into 2 subfactions.

Perhaps. But at least they look less monstrous on some maps than China. I think the first step is to cover up the most obvious elephant in the room.

Yes, that would be really cool.

What’s that? Soviets armed with American weapons? But why do they need a separate faction?

For Finland, we simply don’t have suitable maps at the moment.

Yes, separating them makes sense, but wouldn’t that just be two subfactions fighting on the same set of maps? Or am I mistaken, and have they always fought on different ones?

Just separate the tech tree but keep the squad loadout and matchmaking. We don’t have enough players nor enough weapons for making all subfactions completely separated now.

It’s enough to divide between Europe and the Far East. It’s just that players of the main faction will encounter Japan less often, while players of the Chinese subfaction always do.

And thank God for that. I hate Japan’s shitty maps and its prototype slop tanks and guns.

Although now this can be said about any faction except Germany.

Germany got their crazy ideas really into the field. XD

As I’ve written many times before, there was no point in finding the most exotic gun as FG and giving the ability to use it 3x9. Then they wouldn’t have had to wuck the game with the mass use of a prototype slop.

The same applies to the AVS and the M2 carbine.

Imagine a world where FG-42 is classified as LMG (just like it was in BFV, together with BAR 1918):

No 3x9 meta, no need to invent clones like T20, Autohei, AVT 40 20.

FG-42 limited to 3 machine gunners in the MG squad.

German event paratroopers squad with 6 FGs actually makes sense…

And the AVS in the light machine gun class instead of the Madsen.
