Hello comrades!
The premium squad with the ww1 MP-18 does not stand out. No unique cosmetics and its weapon feels just like an MP-28… with a bigger magazine.
All “MP-28 type” squads currently hold the gun the same:
- MP-18
- MP-28
- MP-28 (extended)
- MP-28 (7.65)
- MP-34
- S1-100
- Sig-1934
To make it unique, i suggest changing the hand placement to be the same as with the Sten (S). This would make the gun feel different than the free TT-MPs and would make it more worthy to be a premium squad, compared to others.
Comparison:
Sten (S) left / MP-18 right
Should the hand placement of the MP-18 be changed to be the same as in the Sten (S)?
It would look like this:

Holding the mag like that could cause feeding issues it’s not the proper technique.

Yeah, I’ve even thought about making a suggestion to correct the Stens, too.

Wouldnt it make sense to be the only smg to be held like that, since the drum magazine would cause extended weight on the left side and drag the gun to the left while aiming if you hold it in the center?
That’s a design flaw of the gun. But if he held the gun by the mag it wouldn’t work so it’s better to have a gun that works rather than a gun that’s uncomfortable to shoot.

I heard people say that it’d actually help it feed, as the user would be pushing the mag in (Notice the faulty magazines of the pre-modern combat era)
That being said, this holding technique isn’t in the manuals, or so I’ve heard, therefore it makes sense that only the special commandos would change the way they use their guns (Not saying common troops don’t have the brains to use a gun better…).
Of course, the counter point to that is that the technique above is cooler…
Holding a sten by the magazine is the incorrect way to hold it. It looks stupid
