Among many complaints about tanks, the most frequent ones are that tanks are sitting in greyzone and never pushing up to assist infantry.
My SUGGESTION:
Have different amounts of score when using a tank based on distance to the objective.
This means sitting in the back of the map with a tank will be FAR less lucrative, than if you push up and assist your team’s infantry at the objective.
- Tanks may not be able to directly capture objectives, but they are definitely a useful force to assist in the capture, and should be rewarded as such.

That’s good and all but you’re basically ordering tankers to commit suicide With all the Auntie tank weapons you’d be insane to push forward because your team doesn’t even cover You to begin with

Now he’s gonna answer you by referring his other suggestion about ultranerfing explosive packs.

That wouldn’t be a bad thing not every soldier should be able to Take out a tank

Explosive packs should be for AT troops only regardless

Tanks should support infantry from a distance, bad idea.

Until the team learned to support tanks and don’t let them get swarm it’s a great idea
I think tanks should help in a breakthrough situation, being the spearhead that slices through enemy lines, or by being a local strongpoint for the enemy to defeat/flank.
I think even armored cars would be useful here.
Currently it always looks the same…
One tank takes the position and has clear sight on the objective - can clear it every 10 sec (reload time).
Second tank rushes into objective, and gets killed… and his wreck only blocks the road and sight for other tanks.
Tanks are not designed to “make cover for infantry with their body”, they have smokes to do it.

So live in a Gray zone forever and don’t bother anyone except for the enemy team got it
That’s great and all but that only works in a perfect world and we’re not in a perfect world most teams don’t care about the tank and when they end up pushing forward the team they always let the tank die instead of helping them

Despite the fact that tanks giving long range support is already representing tank combat correcty
My question for you would be, if you really think “points” are all that matters? I will always do the most effective thing no matter how much the game thinks it would “rank” my actions.

They are only going to learn when tanks actually start pushing in anyways.
In my unfortunate experience, when the infantry spots dangers near my tank they use me as cover and it’s a toss up whether I take the danger out myself or straight to spawn, do not pass GO
Always a blast when my armor cooks surrounded by teammates
Kay but…
What if my shells directly make enemies INSIDE THE CAP explode? What does it matter from where I shoot, then?
Seems to me vehicles already support their team if they clear out cap zones, even from a safe distance.

Usually the people asking for these changes are the ones on the cap getting blown up
the push with the team is cover for just wanting tanks to walk into instant destruction

probably. same guy who wants 27 mines per squad, to create real minefields…
Anyway.

No, this time its a guy that is sick of his team (offense) tanks sitting in the back of the map getting a handful of kills while remaining quite safe, rather than pushing up and helping to clear out important pockets of enemies and breaking through walls (exterior courtyard type walls) so make a better path for infantry.
Tanks when used correctly up close can be a make or break for a team.
