Definitely true, no argument there. It cuts both ways though, can’t go gung ho spearheading if the tank is just gonna get nuked with no support then tickets drain. What constitutes close support to you? Different situations and tanks call for differing attack lengths.
I’ll park my ass on the point if my teams coverage allows it but 50-60 m off cap is the standard. People usually play with crazy tunnel vision and let guys cooking explosives stroll on by; greyzone looking a little better now LMAO
It depends on the situation. Close support could be anything from pushing up for a better firing position at 50-80m off, breaking through walls, even getting in close to block off an MG line of sight in an alleyway. I get that it could result in the death of the tank, but that’s better than the tanks sitting in the back of the map.
If someone wants to use a cannon from the back of the map, that’s what the AT field gun is for! Literally.
Tanks need to be pushing up more frequently, and helping with the pushes.
Haha I’ve had those moments where I wish I could just destroy a friendly tank so I could get to work properly. It is what it is though, people usually only care how their score is. They play how they play.
People aren’t gonna build the AT gun at the back of the map because now they gotta run 150-200 meters once the job’s done; bless you if the cap changes It’s just not efficient most of the time.
At the end of the day while I get where your idea is coming from, it’ll probably just draw people away. On the reverse, if the score per kill is very good close range you’ll get everyone, good and bad, throwing the game for those sweet points. Grind the game over winning mentality
there is two issues that force tankers to sit back
- the maps are claustrophobic at fuck and strongly favour SMG’s over any kind of weapon
- anti tank weapons are much too available
now if they add larger maps where you its a good 500 meters from the point from spawn you will see reason one evaporate, and two they will need to restrict AT weapons to a few classes
