Bringing realism in, the cartridge the 1866 fires is too weak for a soldier to be suffering as much visual recoil as he is in game.
It’s not like those prototype weapons in game saw a day of battle either. I don’t see the problem of adding it consider it is a event weapon.
I got no problem adding it - just a problem making it something it wasn’t - such as “competitive” against “modern” weapons - ie anything made to use smokeless powder.
How does it using black powder change anything tbh, dev can always change the stat of the gun for the sake of balance.
Black Powder has many downsides when compared to Smokeless Powder. Smokeless Powder allows more complex firearms due to not leaving the same amount of residue, it produces more force with the same amount of powder, bullets can be made lighter and travel faster.
Doesn’t matter in Enlisted.
Doesn’t really effect much on this weapon tbh. It is still faster than the smokeless counterpart, .45 ACP thanks to the longer barrel.
Which part of my post didn’t you understand?

And therein lies the problem and would be another example of Enlisted being Warhammer for WW2

Only marginally - the Winchester gets 800-1000 fps IRL with a 200 gr bullet.
A 1911 gets 830fps, while a Thompson gets up to 950, both with a 230gr bullet
The Winchester already gets 10 damage at 10m IIRC, which is already higher than the .45 ACP - so why does it need buffing?
Also not the OP issues - damage is not very important to them - just the visuals/recoil:
…the main issue to me is the visual recoil and the dispersion. The cartridge the 1866 fires is not that powerful, the game recognizes this since it takes 2 shots to down someone 20 meters away, so why does it kick harder than bolt actions?

Warhammer is Warhammer for WW2.
As a trinkity event weapon it’s fine…the Soviets howevere get a WAY better one in the TT in the 1895. And no matter how out of place it is I use it all the time because it hits HARD and compensates for the teamates out sniping or playing the point lol.
The M1895 was designed as a military rifle though, bayonet and smokeless powder included.
And most of the ones now on the civilian market came from either being supplied to Spain in the 1930’s, or were captured and used by Finns in their wars wit the USSR - so the 1895 was actually reasonably extensively used in WW2 and thereabouts.
300,000 were made and supplied to Imperial Russia - see https://www.youtube.com/shorts/8ceuse3mqa0

Why you use smokeless powder as a point?

Where do you find such data? The in game stats is 343 m/s(1,125 ft/s ).

Lol where do you see I talk about the damage?
I don’t care personally that the Winchester is in the game, I don’t use it, but I rarely play BR1 anyway. I usually only bring it up when people get on the games historical accuracy, or when people are complaining about adding experimental weapons that never saw a day of action during the war.
I guess since the Winchester did exist long before the war, and if a soldier got a hold of one, then technically he “could” have used it in the war
. However, he could have just as likely used a .22 cal Squirrel rifle as well, and I am sure they would have been more common. ![]()

Partisans, gorillas, resistance.
There are fairly few occasions where plausibly soldiers could have used such weapons, but since the above mentioned are also taken in account ( example uruguay smg )
I guess, why not.
I guess, why not.
I want my .22 cal Squirrel rifle in the game.
My father had one when he was a teenager back in the late 1950’s. It was a Ranger model 34 built in 1935 and after my father passed away in 2012, I ended up with it. I had it fully restored, then gave it to my son since I can’t have it where I currently live. Hopefully it will be in the family for a long long time and keep getting passed down.
This l believe is the same model as it looks identical, although the wood is darker on mine.
