Buff the Scotti Naval Rifle

Scotti Naval Rifle(Or SNR)is not exactly a terrible gun, but i think it could use an improvement, especially the reload speed. Given it’s very limited magazine size(Only 15 rnds), it could use a faster reload speed than 2.5 secs.

I think the stats are comparable to AVS-36 with 15 rnds mag(Also the fact that AVS-36 with 15 rnds gotten a reload speed buff awhile ago) as both guns deal high damage, relatively low recoil, limited magazine size. Compared to AVS-36, SNR has lower recoil but also deals less damage, lengthier reload time, less RoF, and lacking bayonet and finally, it’s a limited quantity BP weapon that’s only available to the Assaulter class soldiers.

Since i think the damage on SNR is on point as it uses 6.5x52 mm ammunition, i think reload speed increase alone would be suffice.

I suggest the reload speed of SNR to be increased from 2.5 secs → 2.0 secs.

For BR 5 assaulter weapon with only 15 rnds mag size, i think that’s nothing too crazy and would be a reasonable, fair buff.

Devs need to correct the magazine size, I dont care what else they do with the gun.

simple to the point
some people would demand
20 round mag
2.0 reload
and moved to br4
i like it so simple and reasonable you cant help but click yes

Unless the 3D modelling of it’s 15 rnds magazine is incorrect, i don’t see the reason to just increase the magazine size of this gun. Perhaps they should add SNR with bigger magazines(Since they existed AFAIK) but slower reload speed in the future separately, but i think this gun should be left as it is just with a better reload speed instead.

The model is indeed incorrect, but it still holds more than 15 rounds ammo.
Someone did count it and posted it on the forum, but that was not yesterday and since I forgot, maybe he will post it again in this topic.
I find it wild that the developers themselves had realized that the magazine must hold more since they modelled it wrong but they simply ignored the issue, released the gun anyway and tried a lazy buff to get away with it…

Are they? Because those magazine looks like a single-stack magazine to me, given the width of the magazine. 15 rounds sound plausible to me given the context.

It still holds more than 15 rounds though…
But you are correct that the developers have modelled it as if it was single stack when its double stack.

Everything i could find about SNR says the magazine was in fact, single-stack magazine. Could you show me the sources where it says it was a double-stack magazine?

Given the intended role of the SNR, I’d say it would normally hold at least 20 or 25 rounds; while there are certainly images of variants with longer magazines like 40 or 50 rounds, but those would be more suited to a BR4 machine gun or something similar. Also, considering the typical capacity of Italian machine guns, a 20-round count is plausible, though this is just a guess.

You dont really need a source for this.

It was designed for shooting down low flying aircraft, you are not going to put a small magazine on such a gun.
The 20 round Breda magazine feeder clip is not bigger either.

yep, thats a “dual stack”.

However its important to note that the drawings are different from the actual models that they made and the in-game model is based on the drawing which has never left the drawing board or is straight up fake.

yes you do
so 15 is too small for an aa gun but 20 thats good enough
there are two kinds of double stack
straight up one for one and offest
if thats a straight up double stack its 30 not 20
and if its an offset why when they did in with no other gun

From all the searching I did, it looks like the Scotti Naval Rifle could hold anywhere from 15 to 40 rounds. It doesn’t look like there are many, if any official documents floating around, so I am sure the Dev’s got their information the same place I did…from AI on the internet.

There aren’t many sources left about SNR to begin with since it was an experimental rifle with very low production numbers, but what i’ve found so far is this -

In-game modelling seems to be in-line with drawings and the supposed IRL pictures(There like only 3 IRL pictures left or something but yes).

But what i was interested in is the gun’s receiver.

This is SNR.

And these are Scotti Model X. You noticed something? They look very similar, if not almost identical.
I wouldn’t be surprised from this as both guns were made by the same guy. What’s interesting is that how Scotti Model X’s chamber was designed and it’s feeding mechanism.

It does look like it’s fed from single-stack en bloc clip.
I think it isn’t so far-fetched to think that the same single-stack style magazine was used for SNR as well, since the same guy made those guns with the usage of same ammunition with almost identical looking receiver. And to me, almost identical looking receiver means that the both gun has a very similar width as well, meaning, SNR doesn’t really look like it could support a wide, fat double-stack magazines to begin with at least, in my eyes. Then again, of course these are all just my speculation. I could be wrong about this.

Not that I think it’s that big of a deal but I have no idea why they even increased the recoil

That would mean making it better than federov which no weapons are allowed to pass the Soviet throne.

Correct magazine capacity for the Scotti Naval is 25 rounds.

As long as it got some recoil, dispersion, and possibly damage to 13.6-13.9 nerfs to compensate, I think it would be fine.

According to, trust me bro

Same document that was used to correct the rate of fire.

The devs are aware, it’s just seen as a balance issue to make it correct.
