PDD 1944, an old premium squad from the Berlin campaign, seems to have been forgotten by the developers, likely due to how long ago it was released. While its relatives(the PPD-40, PPD Bramit, PPD 34/38, and PPD 34/38 Snail Drum) received buffs, it was left untouched. In the following sections, I will provide a detailed comparison between this weapon and the submachine guns it faces in combat.
Compared to Soviet Submachine Guns
When it comes to rate of fire, you simply won’t find another weapon lower than the PPD 1944.

Actually, there is one, but the Captured MP 40 is a German weapon.
Many people may buy the PPD 1944 for its 71-round magazine, which theoretically lets it take down more enemies, but in reality, its 630 rate of fire makes it far less efficient at killing than other Soviet SMGs.(Moreover, the gun has an unusual bullet trajectory, likely due to its recoil control being only 60%.)
About its reload. In a previous update, all of its variants received reload buffs, but it did not.
Compared to German Submachine Guns
When facing real players, the PPD 1944 can hardly compete with any German SMGS.Against real players, it stands no chance; it can barely manage to kill bots with its large drum magazine.
Compared to Japanese Submachine Guns
It has no advantage, just like when facing German SMGS.
The PPD 1944 deserves a buff as compensation for all the players who bought this squad.
- Yes
- No
- Buff the reload speed, just like the other PPD variants
- Buff the fire rate to at least match the average of Soviet SMGs.(690RPM)
- Both buffs are needed.
- I have other ideas, and I’ll explain them in the comments.
