Buff the MG-15

Most people probably forgot the MG 15 exists. Something should be done about that.

It is currently a BR5 machine gun, which despite having the smallest ammo capacity compared to the MG42 (100) and MG 81, it has the slowest reload time

Essentially, the MG42 (100) reloads faster, has a higher capacity, has less obstructive sights, and has better recoil control. So why would you even bother with the MG 15? For the extra RPM? Because by then, you’d use the MG 81 instead

I propose that the MG-15 gets a buffed reload speed from 6.7 seconds to 5.0 seconds due to having the smallest capacity between all of Germany’s BR5 machine guns

Why? Because right now, its existence is completely and utterly pointless when you compare it between the MG42 and MG 81. Buffing it would increase the amount of viable options at BR5 and make the choice between which weapon to use more meaningful

Quite sure ppl still wont pick it but why not.

5 seconds is kinda perfect, it’s only a 25 round difference so it being slightly lower then the 6.6 second reload for a 100 round belt is more then fair. Comparing to the MG-42 (100) it’s only saving grace is the 6 less dispersion that alone isn’t enough to justify not waiting until the MG-42 (100) is unlocked or just choosing it as the better option if it already is unlocked.

mg42 100 has about 33% less vertical recoil than the mg 15 too

(16 vs 23)

Maybe a downtier to BR 4? It’s a tricky gun that suffers from an identity crisis.

I missed that but yes, my point with it was a buff to reload would help a ton. I was going off the single largest noticable buff, that’s my fault. Guess I won’t just skim through the stats as quickly next time, as cases like this have more then the 1-2 noticable things.

Well, then it would most likely outclass the MG42 and MG34 Patronentrommel. I think the right move here is to buff it to compete with the other BR5 machineguns

pointless, why would anyone use it over MG 34 Patronentrommel which is BR4? the only positive about the MG 15 is the needlessly high fire rate.

The MG-15, well, that aircraft machine gun left a deep impression on me. Besides its extremely high rate of fire, its recoil and bullet dispersion were astonishing. Guess why it was unpopular? Because its recoil was simply too great; if you held the trigger, the bullets would fly wildly, and you wouldn’t hit the enemy at all.

Yeah true, but I feel like it’s way too uncontrollable, the other 2 BR 4 MGs have their pros compared to it.

MG42: fast firing, low drum capacity but still controllable.

MG34 patron: larger magazine, lower but more controllable ROF and accuracy.

MG15: insane ROF which leads to poor accuracy but good magazine size to spray and pray.

If we had all 3 in BR 4 it could come down to preference. That’s just my take.

Technically, the MG15 has the lowest dispersion compared to the MG42 and MG34 patronentrommel.

Plus, if they are too uncontrollable, you can always go prone and/or use the bipod, which effectively makes them effortlessly controllable

My only other option would be to downtier the MG42 into BR 3 so that this wouldn’t compete against it. But that may be an unpopular opinion.

I see the MG-15 like I see the M1919a6, which is that it’s a BR5 weapon competing with BR6 weapons. It doesn’t have a place until it either gets a big ol buff or until BR5 gets decompressed

I’m not even sure that’s true. It’s better on paper but as soon as you start to spray it, it’s dispersion go haywire and immediately feels like a shotgun.
