The Browning .303 is practically useless in combat at BR4 due to its limitation of only being able to fire from a prone position or when mounted on its bipod.
Compared to the Browning .303, the AN/M2 Stinger boasts a 200-round capacity and a quicker reload time. This weapon’s bullet muzzle velocity falls short of the average for its class.
Yes,Browning.303 needs a buff(Increase muzzle velocity,reduce reload time)
Correct,Browning .303 requires buffs in other areas as well( I’ll explain in the comments)
The biggest thing it needs is to be able to fire from the hip, otherwise Gaijin’s Dev’s just completely wasted their time creating it as it will be rarely used.
When I have it equipped I am always proning with my squad AI, they use it fine… now hip fire option if inaccurate spray would be reasonable (for all similar)
But in reality I think all LMGs should be prone and inaccurate hip fire for other existing guns, MG42 etc
All LMGs should go prone or mounted to be used. Stinger should have 100 round mag at most.
Caveats:
not all weapons Gaijin say is an LMG is really an LMG. Automatic Rifles like the BAR and WAR are not LMGs, although they were used in that role in US doctrine. They should be reclassified as Automatic Rifles. Other Automatic Rifles that are designated as Assault Rifles, like the Federov Avtomat, should also be reclassifed as Automatic Rifles. Other Automatic Rifles that are designated as Semi Auto Rifles, like the FG-42, Federov Rifle (20), and T20s, should also be reclassified as Automatic Rifles.
All LMGs should be able to hip fire, but without ADS benefits.
They should have never have released it as a player used weapon. I can see it being on a specific map in the Pacific, much like how one can find the German Officer Sword in Normandy.
